Stage Fright (Allie Finkles Rules for Girls,
This review is from: Stage Fright (Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls, No. 4) (Hardcover)
Finally, a book that interests my daughter, and she will sit and read because she wants to. It fills the gap between Geronimo Stilton, and books with less and less pictures, and more pages. Meg Cabot writes much about the child's awkward (mom you embarrassed me again) emotions, and the how kids can be so emotionally fragile when other kids are not so nice. But like most of Megs books the lessons are good, and a happy ending awaits at the end of the book.

Allie Finkle lives by the rules! From those that work only for Allie (Never eat anything red.) to those that work sometimes (If you want to get anywhere, you can't play by the rules.) to those that we all should follow (When you know the right thing to do, you have to do it.) Allie, a less than perfect but always delightful character, confronts how to handle competition with friends and enemies in this novel about a class play.
As a long-time fan of Meg Cabot's teen and adult fiction, I enjoyed this book written for a slightly younger reader. Although Stage Fright is the fourth in the series, it's my first exposure to Allie Finkle and I'm sure I'll be back for more. -- Reviewed by Michelle Delisle

Best book,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Stage Fright (Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls, No. 4) (Hardcover)
I loved this book! It's about a girl who wants to be the lead role in a play at school. When she dosen't get the part she wants her uncle tells her that the part she has is pretty good after all.

A Great Allie Finkle Story,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Stage Fright (Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls, No. 4) (Hardcover)
I liked the idea of Pine Heights Elementary putting on a class play about the Realm of Recycling. That old nasty Cheyenne is back in this book and she is as mean as ever. Cheyenne tries out for the same part as Allie, and this is a very good story. I think this book is funny and I am eager to read the next books. This book is even better than the other books because it is so exciting at the end.

I highly reccomend Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls Stage Fright By:Meg Cabot to all who haven't read this.
Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls Stage Fright is a great book starting from beginning to end. In the beginning the main character Allie, is going to have a play called Princess Penelope with her class.called The Realm of Recycling. Allie and her four best friends (Erica, Sophie, Caroline and Rosemary) are so excited! Except, all the girls want the lead role including her. Sophie and Cheyenne, the mean girl or bully in Allie's class., all want the part!! But, fortunately Allie's Uncle Jay has a few tricks up his sleeve. Apparently, her uncle has been in a couple of plays himself! Allie is so thrilled. Her uncle gives her the tip to project your voice to the crowd so then your teacher will think you have the guts to really make sure people hear her. Allie didn't want the part of the evil queen. So she was going to make sure she got one of the parts but she just wanted that part. So, the next day at tryouts, Cheyenne brought all her records from her plays back and boy did she have a lot! When it was her friend Sophie's turn she was amazing!! She totally blew Allie's mind! When it was Cheyenne's turn she made sure to dazzle Mrs. Hunter (Allie's teacher). But she didn't have to dazzle her to try to get the part. You will just have to read the book to find out what part Allie and her friends get. ` My favorite part of this book was the tryouts for Allie and her class because it is very suspenseful and you have to wait a really long time to find out what parts they all get .Meg Cabot does a phenomenal job making sure this part was very well described and funny. This is a great part. What I learned from this book was follow your dreams and don't give up hope. This is a great influence for you if you have a dream that you want to follow. Another thing I learned is, if you don't get your way try to make the best out of it. I would give this book 4 1/2 stars. This is a great book and I highly recommend to all.

If you like reading this book, then you have no problem buying it. It is in standard shipping and is in perfect condition like you expect it to be. Even if you buy used ones, it comes off not that badly damaged than a few scratches. Really good for girls at age 10+

Allie Finkle's fourth grade class is putting on a play and Allie really, really wants the part of the main character, Princess Penelope. The only problem is that so does almost every other girl in her class, including one of her best friends, Sophie, and snobby Cheyenne.
Allie's not worried, though. With help from her ex-theater major Uncle Jay and her mom's new "Celebrity" job as a movie critic on a local cable show, she's sure to get the part. But if she does get the part, will Sophie still be her best friend? How will she ever practice her lines with her two little brothers playing tackle football in the hallway all the time? Most importantly, can Allie figure all this out without breaking any of her rules? STAGE FRIGHT, like all Meg Cabot's books, was very funny and a lot of fun. Young girls will relate to Allie's friendship (and enemy) troubles and excitement. Allie and everyone in her world are sweet, and Allie always finds a way to make any situation fun. This review is from: Stage Fright (Allie Finkle's Rules for Girls, No. 4) (Hardcover)
Stage Fright comes out strong, setting a very powerful and perfect tone to a great story. This series really is great for fans of Barbara Park's snarky Junie B. Jones. It's the same brand of humor, and fans who may have outgrown Junie and are looking for something new to read will definitely find the same type of honest outlook on the world from Allie. Cabot is really good at keeping up with current pop culture and putting in age appropriate references, which would make the books all the more appealing with her target audience. This book is not only adorable and kid-friendly, it also contains simple environmentally-friendly facts for them to learn and hopefully adapt in their own lives. We need more books telling our children how to be environmentally friendly in this day and age, so kudos to Cabot for blending it in with the plot so well! This book, like its predecessors and sequel, carries out fantastic characterization and is just as humorous, too! The ending's a little anticlimactic and predictable, and I do not think the title fits even slightly, but it's a cute read and I'm sure kids would really enjoy it.
