Out of all of the books I have read on relationships, this book, although small, packs a big wollup! The title is a bit misleading, in that it doesn't just apply to the love addict. This book is great for the new couple and the couple who has been together for years... or even a single person looking to get into a healthy relationship.

I truly believe this book should be read by every person attempting this thing we like to call a relationship.

You won't be sorry you bought this book.

This isn't just a book for people who have been addicted. I read it and I found it invaluable because I wanted a simple book on communication that gets to the point. It's humorous and makes me think what a better world it would be if we just applied these skills to our everyday lives. I think all couples should read this book before they get married or decide to live together. I learned that human kindness coupled with honesty is a very powerful thing.

Earnie Larsen is timeless in his insight and understanding about how habits (both good and bad) drive our lives. Highly recommend this book to anyone struggling to understand why mistakes are repeated over and over again in their life.

This book is full of insight and wisdom. It sheds light on the dysfunctional attitudes and behaviors that sabotage relationships and gives valuable advice for healthier ways of thinking and acting. I have read other books by this author, and have found them all to be very helpful.

My therapist recommended this book & at first I didn't want to get it because it was for recovery. She (being the awesome therapist that she is) reiterated that she wanted me to get it & it is not about recovery or addiction. After reading it, I see the world differently & I treat others differently. It improved my life tremendously and improved every relationship I have. Every person on the planet should read this book! NO JOKE. WHY? Beacause it tells specifically how to treat others and cut through all the crap & garbage ( aka untrue ideas) that people have in their heads about relating to others. It is a tremendously complicated problem isn't it: divorce, domestic violence, disfunctional families, depression, even just plain fighting with another person, be it a classmate, coworker, relative or spouse.... and yet this book swiftly and clearly gets to the problems and miraculously dissolves them. I kid you not. Larsen says each person has the resposibility to have good relationships with others. We must act like adults and act responsibly and do the right thing. Buy this book right now & read it for yourself and buy more as gifts to those you love or close to you. You will thank your lucky stars you did & love it as much as I do ;)

I read this book the first time about 25 years ago to help me understand what was going on with my alcoholic husband. It made a lot of sense to me and truly changed my way of thinking. I have given copies to family members or friends dealing with similar situations over the years.

This book consistently helps people identify and change their relationship life. It is easy and sensible to read. It is also worth re-reading every once in a while. Some thing new will appear in the re-read.
