Perfect for mounting on a podium, add a gooseneck and it's perfect for using a mounted mike at meetings.

I wanted a way to mic the top cab of a amp stack but didn't want another boom stand. I cut a piece of 3/4" thick MDF (if it doesn't last I'll use hardwood) to about 6" x 12", cut a radius on one end with a band saw and painted it flat black. I mounted this flange in the center of the radius. I added a 13" black gooseneck and then attached my Shure SM 58 to it.

I can slip the piece between the bottom Marshall 4x12 cab and my Fender Hot Rod Blues DeVille 4x10 on top and position the mic to catch one of the speakers of the Fender. Cool! It costs less than a boom stand and takes up less room. I may need to glue some sort of non-skid rubbery material on it to keep it from sliding around, but since I just use the amp rig in my home studio it'll probably work out fine as it is.

The gooseneck fit perfect. It comes with 3 mounting screws.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good product for a reasonable price., May 24, 2011

This desk mounted flange is strong and is a fraction of the cost of the "name brand" audio accessiories. It is mounted on a shelf above a Ham Radio operating position and holds an adjustable boom, a flexible boom extension goose neck and a microphone with no problems.
