An interesting narrative gleaned from interviews and literature review, but not scholarly. Reader might assume they'd learn more about stages and freighters in west Texas, i.e., the Trans-Pecos area. But there was little about stages and freighers in that area beyond the San Antonio to El Paso stage routes and some of the forts along it. There was no discussion of stages in Brewster or Presidio counties. The reader needs to be aware that the term west Texas in the title isn't what many people would call west Texas.
