5.0 out of 5 stars This CD rocks
It AMAZES me that this album isn't more popular - it's SOOO good. When I saw there were only 2 reviews on this album, I was upset. This band is awesome, and they deserve more than 2 reviews (albeit they were both 5 stars). I love this album, and while it's better than their previous CD, I still recommend getting that as well (The Weight Of an Empty Room). I randomly...

2.0 out of 5 stars Skip this and buy their first album
In my opinion this album is definitely inferior to the first Vedera (Veda as they were known when I first saw them as an opening act and was blown away) album "Weight of an Empty Room." As a fan of female vocalists I found the vocal tracks to be over produced and more american idol pop than rock. Musically and lyrically the album retains most of those aspects of Vedera...

This band is awesome, and they deserve more than 2 reviews (albeit they were both 5 stars). I love this album, and while it's better than their previous CD, I still recommend getting that as well (The Weight Of an Empty Room). I randomly found them because of their single SATISFY, but IMO, there are many songs on this CD that are just as good (if not better). If you like bands with female singers, CHECK THEM OUT. YOU WON'T REGRET IT.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Record!, October 6, 2009
This review is from: Stages (MP3 Download)
I discovered the song "Satisfy" on MTV's The Hills and I loved it from the minute I heard it. I bought their first album, 'The Weight Of An Empty Room', and began liking them even more. I was so excited for 'Stages' and got it as soon as it was available! You should do the same as you will love this album!

Watch this specific video of "Satisfy" on youtube to get a feel for what's in store on this album. It's a better representation than anything I could put into words:

[...]

Outstanding vocals, solid performance by the band. Even better than their other album, The Weight of an Empty Room which is very good especially for a first production.

2.0 out of 5 stars Skip this and buy their first album, December 14, 2011

In my opinion this album is definitely inferior to the first Vedera (Veda as they were known when I first saw them as an opening act and was blown away) album "Weight of an Empty Room." As a fan of female vocalists I found the vocal tracks to be over produced and more american idol pop than rock. Musically and lyrically the album retains most of those aspects of Vedera that I loved so much on the first album but I find myself annoyed and/or bored with most of the vocals. If they were going for a more radio friendly sound in order to breakout from the underground they definitely achieved it, to the detriment of this record. Most people that I know who were into the first album seem to have the same opinion. It's a shame, "Weight of an Empty Room" was a beautiful record that also rocked and I couldn't wait to hear what they did next. I bought this album immediately when it was released, listened to it once and have never had the urge to put it on again and any time it pops up on shuffle in my ipod I end up skipping the track about 30 seconds in. I really wanted to like "Stages" but unfortunately I can't get behind the overall change in sound from the last record.

A very good band, but this CD lacks some of the emotion from back when they recorded their "The Weight of an Empty Room" CD as Veda. Really think the production could have been better on this album, but overall I am liking it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not one song..., February 28, 2011
This review is from: Stages (Audio CD)
There is not one song I don't love on this album...-and that is hard to say when you own over 7,000 c'd's...

I play it when I'm sad, when I'm lost,hopeful,thoughtful,reflective- a beautiful, plaintive voice and great musicians-I put it on a par with Corrine Bailey Rae's 1st album,The Cranberries 2nd one and Norah Jones last,as an album I could have on repeat all day and enjoy every time around.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Album, February 15, 2011

Marketing must of been poor for Verdera and this album, because it's loaded with great songs. A must addition to any music collection.

5.0 out of 5 stars THE best CD I own!, February 13, 2011
This review is from: Stages (Audio CD)
I discovered Vedera watching an episode of The Hills. After the episode I was obsessed with finding out who they were and wanted to hear more. I bought Stages as soon as it was available, then I bought their first CD, The Weight of an Empty Room, and loved it just as much. This band deserves more popularity than any of the other bands out there! This is definitely the most enjoyable CD I've ever owned. It is on repeat in my car, and it has been for about a year now. I never get tired of hearing their music. If you haven't heard them yet, do so! You won't regret it. I also saw them live, and it was an amazing concert. A terrific band. Period.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best CD's I own, November 24, 2010
This review is from: Stages (Audio CD)
I was first introduced to Vedera at a Goo Goo Dolls concert and from the second they started playing I knew there was something special about this band. "Loving Ghosts" is by far my favorite track on this CD, but the whole CD is on repeat in my car. Love Vedera and wish they would come back to SD for another concert!
