Great, comfortable shoe; not sure how durable,
By
This review is from: Soft Stags Men's Forman Casual Shoes (Apparel)
As a vegan, I've had to make do for years wearing substandard non-leather shoes. The selection at most department stores is poor and the material usually wears out in less than a year, when the creases on the top of the shoe where one's foot bends eventually turn into holes due to vinyl fatigue.
Thus, it was a pleasure to find a variety of vegan shoes produced by Soft Stags (a company which, it should be noted, also produces leather shoes), and the Foreman (which appears to have been misspelled "Forman" by Amazon) fit my need for a nice-looking, vegan shoe that could be worn in both formal and casual settings. Other than appearance, the three other issues regarding this shoe are comfort, price, and durability. Regarding comfort, there are no problems--it's a very comfortable shoe. The materials from which it is made are soft and cushiony, making it a pleasure to wear. Regarding price, it's a little more expensive than I have paid in the past, but, of course, it's a nicer shoe. Regarding durability, I'm not sure how durable this shoe is--after just a few months of normal wear, small creases (which will probably eventually turn into holes) are already showing up on the tops of the shoes at the points where they bend. I'd be interested to read reviews by others who have purchased this shoe, to see how they hold up on your end. This is overall a very good product. The question is, can't a manufacturer produce a non-leather shoe that doesn't crease/break within a year of purchase? |
