I bought this for my 10 year olds birthday sleepover and all the girls really enjoyed putting the glass tiles on the coaster. The grouting I did for them simply because we were running out of time and they wanted to watch their movie.

Used this as a hands-on activity while we were studying mosaics, and it was a hit. It was easy enough that even my 8 year-old could assemble his glass pieces without help. The only thing missing is a glossy sealant. That would have made this a 5 star kit.

I think that these were cute, and came as expected, but now that they are done and they look great, the grout tends to shed on my furniture. Maybe I am not good at grouting things, so I wouldn't really know if they would shed on your furniture, but that's the only downfall I saw. Well other than I would have liked to have been able to pick the glass colors that I wanted, I think these were good. I didn't like the green color so much, but found that the green is actually the back of black glass, so if you would like making coasters with red, purple, and black glass, then you have that option also. I am in my mid 30's, and did craft projects after surgery while I was healing and sort of stuck in the house, but for kids, I would definitely keep a parent around as this is mainly glass and grout so it makes a mess and could be dangerous. I would have also liked if there were other layout/stencil options, it came with one and I didn't love it so I tried to make up my own.
