Decent quality, but mine has design flaw that spoils it for me. The push lock that keeps the pliers closed when the tool is in pocket or sheath simply will not work, so that the strong spring keeps these pliers always open. In fact, the spring that keeps them open is so strong, that without a working push lever lock to keep them closed, they work their way loose in the...

Excellent for the fisherman/woman who don't want to carry extra tools with them. Found it to be substantial in quality.

every once in a while you really do "get what you pay for." I lost a pair of old needle nose pliers I had on my last trip out, so I thought I would replace them with an actual pair of fishing pliers. Well I must say, these looked good online, but I was very disappointed when I received. They have oxidization on them, even though they were coatd in some type of oil to prevent it from happening. they don't cut line well and the locking mechanism worked once and then never again. For those of you that don't think that matters - it does, because these are spring loaded to be already opened so you can easily manuver with one hand, so I can never get mine closed because the mechanism doesn't fit properly. you are better spending $5 more and getting a reputable brand.

Enjoy fishing!

1.0 out of 5 stars This won't replace anything in my tackle box, September 26, 2010

My pliers arrived a couple days ago. They looked like mediuim-quality, which is fine for the price, but after a river and a lake outing(busy Saturday!) they won't replace a single item in my tackle box.

-The tips of the needle-nose do not touch! So they didn't work for removing smaller hooks, I had to use my surgical crimps as usual

-The "line cutter" does not cut 4 or 6 lb test line, so I had to use my nail clippers, as usual.

I bought this hoping to consolidate my tools from 3 (tiny pliers, nail clippers, and surgical crimp)to 1, but this doesn't perform any of its functions well enough to be worth its weight in my tackle box.

Literally the only thing they did well that I attempted with them was to close and open a split-shot sinker, which can done with fingers(on some brands)

Terribly dissapointed.

I purchased this item based on the description.
Unfortunately I had to return it as it does not cut fishing line.
The pliers and handle have a nice feel so if line cutting is
not important, it should suit you fine.

The pliers are nice, I like the mechanism that locks them shut when not in use. I am somewhat dissatified that the line cutter on the pliers does not work. I would not have purchased them if I had known of this short coming in advance. The description does say "line cutter", don't believe it!

Buena herramienta, el mango tiene un buen diseño, el tamaño es un poco grande pero cómodo, el estuche no está muy bien diseñado ni es de buena calidad, no cuenta con puntas para abrir "rings".
