This scoop does look nice, but it is poorly designed, in my opinion. The scoop itself is very solid and heavy, but the handle is very thin, and it gets very narrow near the scoop. This design means it is pretty weak - it bent when I tried to push it out of the plastic it came packaged in in. Very basic, not worth more than a few dollars.

I picked up this very same scoop by Frontier just recently at a home show. I also payed $2.00 more for it than what its being offered for here, and that is factoring in the shipping as well. I had a long coffee scoop for years for reaching the bottom of the cannister, but then it suddenly disappeared from a camping trip I had foolishly taken it along for. These scoops are very much all the same in length, (8" or so) and in their capacity, (2 tlbs). The differences all come down to the price, design, and the thickness. This Frontier model is made of a thick high quality stainless steel, and is very comfortable to hold. It is the standard 8" long and easily can get to the bottom of most cannisters. At the time of this writing this scoop was the cheapest I could find on Amazon, but factoring in the shipping brings it in line with others that ship for free when bundled. If you happen to have a use for a couple of these, the shipping charge changes very little, and thus becomes the bargain. Its a nice quality scoop all around. One last thing, I don't know when it was the last time that you went out to hunt down one of these scoops, but the reason I got mine at the home show is because they seemed to be nonexistent in stores. I would not only suggest you buy this scoop, but that you strongly consider buying it here. Unless your luckier in your hunt than I was, or there is a home show in your near future... :D

Contrary to the description provided by the vendor, this scoop holds only 3/4 as much as a standard two-tablespoon coffee measure. So, if you are accustomed to using a standard coffee measure, you will have to adjust the number of scoops of ground coffee that you use. Initially, this irritated the heck out of me. But now that I have calculated the number of scoops I need to use with this new scoop, it's not really much of a problem, and I do like the shape, the long handle, and the beautiful way the metal is formed to make this scoop. It makes it easy to dig into a bag of ground coffee that is nearly empty, and in general it is a pleasure to use. But be forewarned that you will have to use four of these scoops to equal three scoops using a standard coffee measure.

Note that the spoon's capacity is approximate, not exact. If you buy it, be sure to test it with the coffee you intend to use so your results can be predictable. Note that the spoon is flimsy; the handle is way to thin near where it meets the bowl of the spoon and it EASILY bends under relatively light pressure.

I guess the material it is made from is kind of thin as it arrived bent!! I wanted something more durable was the reason I ordered this one, but I guess it isn't!

I would not buy this again, I thought I needed it as I was tired of a plastic spoon to measure my coffee, this is actually not as good as plastic. The metal is very thin and bends at any pressure. I tried pushing the spoon into the coffee so it would fit in a new can and it bent in half, I was able to bend it back, but it looks bent! I would just keep plastic if I had not wasted my money on this.

This is a great little scoop. Not only is it good for coffee, but I've begun to find other uses for it, like melon balls, making beignets, small scoops of ice cream for the children.

I bought this scoop because they are next to impossible to find at the local grocery store. It has a nice quality look and feel to it. To most people's taste, a level scoop in a Mr. Coffee pot or similar coffee maker will make average to slightly strong coffee. Great little item for the money.
