Doesn't have the strongest grip and could possibly bend pins but is better than some available. Okay for the price

The weak metal at the tips of this chip puller isn't rigid enough and bends in typical use. Not recommended.

Every so often I have to remove an EPROM from a circuit board and the best way to do it is to use one of these IC pullers. This one is metal with a vinyl coating for insulation and gripping. Just make sure that you discharge yourself or wear a static wristband while removing a chip. The nice thing about this one is that it allows you to apply uniform pressure when pulling the chip straight out and avoid bending the pins. You can get a good grip because this is metal and doesn't flex like some of the cheaper brands.

It is well made and priced right, a good combination!

I have had a chip puller like this one for years. I rarely had a need to pull EPROMS, but I do at my current job. Some chip pullers have flimsy metal at the bottom and plastic at the top, these can make it hard to pull thicker chips. The product I am reviewing is as simple as it comes, hard metal with rubberized tool dip type insulation. Works great, will last for decades, very inexpensive. WIN!

Great IC chip puller. I use mine for swaping BIOS chips on motherboards. Stop using paperclips with bent edges. This is the right tool for the job and makes quick work of removing chips from their sockets without damage.

Handy little item to have when you're needing to pluck a chip out of a slot machine. Good grip that also insulates from spark/charge. Well worth getting this little gem.

I use this on 24+ pin Motorola processors and this certainly makes life easier when removing the processors, no more bent/broken pins!
