Product Description

Made from durable stainless steel, this industrious little strainer helps ensure clog-free kitchen drains. The unit's finely spaced mesh grating allows water to pass through while capturing even the smallest bits of food and waste that can cause buildup in sinks and drains. Its unique beveled edge provides a secure fit, even beneath a sink full of dishes jostling for space. Additionally, the unit protects in-sink disposals from undergoing excessive grinding and burnout. With the strainer in place, safely peel potatoes, carrots, apples, and cucumbers into the sink, emptying into the trash when through. The kitchen-sink strainer measures approximately 4.25 by 4.25 by 1.5 inches. Set of 2 strainers.

Easy to clean.

The mesh is small enough to keep food from going down the drain but large enough to let the water drain through.

This thing started to rust within a couple of days use.

Not stainless steel. Began to rust after 1 month use.

I ordered two of these. Bad idea. After a couple of weeks in the sink, this "stainless steel" strainer is starting to rust, especially on the screen, which is much thinner material. I have a double sink, and an 5+ year old strainer on the other side that IS stainless and it has not rusted a bit. That I got from Bed Bath & Beyond but I don't remember the brand (maybe Oxo?). I bought this to replace a knockoff of my old one that rusted out too. Guess I need to check BB&B if they have any more. Too bad -- I really like the construction of this one more than my old one since it "hides" better in the sink.

I have had several, but this one is the best by far. It has a firm, stainless steel plate to hold it in place, yet a stainless steel strainer which shakes clean on the edge of a garbage can (with a plastic liner). It catches everything and then lets it go. Some of the others I have used in the past seem to hold the food particles and you have to use a paper hand towel each time you want to clean it out. Using this strainer keeps 99% of the garbage out of your pipes and, if used regularly, will keep the plumber from paying you a visit to clean them out.

I liked the concept of this sink strainer but unfortunately after only a few days use, it started to rust.

I bought this to substitute an old strainer that I'll now use for my bar sink and I'm pleasantly satisfied. My old strainer was notorious for allowing food to get stuck around the rim and often times bypassing it altogether. Now, with this one, I can use my water sprayer for almost all food chunks/debris right into the strainer and eventually to my waste receptacle. I'm not yet sure if it's as rust resistant as my previous strainer(I've owned this one less than a week), and I'll update this same review after it's had a few turns in my dishwasher. Oh, yes it will fit over a standard kitchen drain with no issues. You'll get 2 stainless steel 11.5cm (4.5in) heavy duty strainers.

Beware that close to the entire wording on the packaging is written in Japanese since it was manufactured there, I believe. Anyway, you shouldn't need detailed instructions on the overall use of a kitchen sink strainer.

I think these have saved me very many costly plumbing bills, or at least have put them off for the time being.

I don't have a disposal on my old farmhouse double sink, and I ended up with a BIG clog of food and grease earlier this summer that I hopefully resolved for a while with diligent Drano use (I know, I know) and plunging.

Though shipping seemed to take forever for these sink strainers, they have absolutely been worth the wait. They fit like they were meant for my sink. I can even throw them in the dishwasher to clean them when icky stuff gets stuck in the mesh.

Pros: Saved me a plumbing bill, easy to clean in the dishwasher

Cons: Slow shipping

I was replacing other similar strainers. But my others had a rolled rim which let stuff get under it and still down the drain. The design of the rim on these keeps everything flowing through the sieve. Highly recommend these.

I love these! Most of the other strainers I've found have a very small cup for the strainer. These have a good rounded screen and catch all those little pieces that should not go down the drain.
