Book Description

Blush: This is a suggestive romance (love scenes are not graphic).

Dating websites suck. Skylar’s found that members lie about everything. And photo manipulation is rampant—don’t get her started on the guy with the surprise peg leg. She’d rather be a workaholic than take her chances on another loser with mad Photoshopping skills.

Skylar’s best friend Cath, however, has some unconventional methods to help her snag a mate—including a stakeout, complete with donuts and binoculars. Well, what does Skylar have to lose? Besides, Cath’s methods have worked before…

For more of Cath’s zany matchmaking antics, check out The Write Man for Her.

3.0 out of 5 stars If this is a stakeout, there should be donuts July 11, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Cute premise but the execution of it is rather unsophisticated. The author likes to use movies and actors as shorthand descriptions ("He looked like a young Mel Gibson") and all the heroine's dates are such stereotypes that it's obvious which of them will be the hero. As soon as we find out he's a firefighter, a volunteer, and a dog lover (who rescued his dog from the shelter no less) we know we've found Mr. Right. And sentences like "Finding a descent man isn't easy" don't help. But overall, the story has some cute moments and, of course, ended happily.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute, short and sweet August 5, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a very quick read. Very sweet and free. The end was predictable, but still heartwarming. Even in this short a story, you still feel the bond of friendship between the two women and are routing for the 'right' guy to come along. I recommend it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Great Story, but way too short. August 20, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
The story was funny and awesome. But the length was absolutely absurd. I thought this was a real story, but it was a short story. And when I say short, I mean smurf sized. I had this book read in 5 minutes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Stakeout for Love July 16, 2010
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
This was a very interesting story about how friends help another friend find a date. Skyler, has no love life because she works way too much on her accounting job. Skyler has given up on the dating sites because men always lie about who they are. Her friend, Cath comes up with a plan to find a person who says who he is and doesn't lie on his profile. This was another short story, which was read in 30 minutes.

4.0 out of 5 stars From anthology? December 29, 2012
By SamCat
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I found four or five short stories showing the same cover and typeset. Due to the length and such they remind me of an anthology which is not exactly a bad thing. It is an intro to different writers and genre that might be of further interest without a full book commitment. Normally I am not a contemporary romance reader, being not into explicit sex, just for sex sake. But this was clean and cute and left me wanting a bit more story so that makes it a four in my book.

4.0 out of 5 stars Well, darn... more please. September 18, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
After her divorce, Skyler threw herself into her career, which left little time for a love life. So, she tried computer dating. Well, that turned out to be a bust--the men just lied too much about themselves. So, back to her workaholic ways. Her good friend Cath doesn't like that idea, so she & 3 male friends, decide to intervene & help Skyler. The plan they choose, which is brilliant, eventually leads to the Stakeout. (Since this is a short story, I can't go into too many details~~don't want to spoil the story.)

The story is cute, but I wish there was more to it~~ The friendship bond between Skyler & Cath is sweet, but it's not clear how long they've known each other. It's not hard to figure out who Skyler will pick, but we don't get to see the relationship between them develop. (I guess that's why it's called a sample.)

If you just want a cute, sweet, quick story to read, then this is a good one. A good way to unwind.

4.0 out of 5 stars Cute, but... June 20, 2011
By Megan
Format:Kindle Edition
This was yet another short story that I didn't want to end. I would love for this to be expanded into a chapter book. It could include some bad dates for each, and more into the date.... But I think this short story is very cute and I really enjoyed it. And it's not suggestive at all. Just short an sweet. :)
