These work great for things like sandwiches, burgers, lightly dressed salads, etc. They're a good buy, and certainly good for the environment.

But my experience has been that they do not do at all well with anything "sloppy" or juicy. Spaghetti with meat sauce: the juice from the sauce leaked through. Broiled chicken: the juices leaked through. Cole slaw: the dressing leaked through.

So if you're planning to use these mostly for casual eating, where nothing too "liquid" is involved, these will work beautifully. Otherwise, you're probably better off using a "coated" paper plate.

These plates are generously sized with a good lip around the edges so you can put any food on without risk of it sagging or the food rolling off as soon as it tips a little.

I can tell no difference in this plate versus other standard brands. We had spaghetti on these with creamed corn. There was a small amount of steam moisture on the table when we were done eating. The plates were no more worse for wear, other than the staining from the tomatoes. I have reused the plates from lunches for the kids. Since a sandwich and apples leaves no trace of use. Dust off the crumbs and you have a clean plate! I would buy these plates. Better for the world since it is a compostable plate that is made from a by-product.

When you think of paper plates you usually think of flimsy plates that do not hold up that well. All that is about to change once you try the Stalkmarket Heavy Duty Dinner plates. These "green" plates are simply amazing, I have used them for greasy pizza, tacos, canned corn, macaroni and cheese, and I have never had one spill.

When I received these and opened them, I was concerned that they might be up to the task of handling a heavy meal. As it turned out, I was wrong to make that assumption. We used the plates for a heavy meal that contained both grease and moisture and had no problems with the plates at all. They are equally as good as what can be bought in any store and have the added benefit of being biodegradable. I would buy these again in an instant, and my very eco friendly daughter has requested we buy them for her dorm room next year.

The best of all worlds? Yes! These plates are sturdy, biodegradable, and a good value. This product allows me to be sensitive to the enviroment which not sacrificing quality I have become used to. This product will help us battle the landfill and pollution problems which plague our planet.

These plates are great if you are looking for an alternative to foam or the standard paper plates. I find that these plates are much stronger than Dixie plates, at some point Dixie Plates like to flex or bend these did not do that, and they did not get wet either, and held up well to people cutting with knifes. I only wish I had seen that these were not made in America. These are processed and manufactured in Thailand.

Although the plates aren't as large as I'd like, I was impressed by their sturdiness. I've never before used a biodegradable plate other than the original paper plates, but it's nice to know that this wasn't made out of trees, but instead a waste product of the sugar-making process.

The plates are sturdier and heftier than I thought they'd be, and they stand up well to typical eating -- pasta, veggie burgers, cutting, etc. I'd definitely recommend these plates.

These are great if you're looking for disposable plates! Definitely thicker than those Dixie paper kinds, though it's not completely leak-proof like the plastic ones, but I don't think there is a paper plate which is completely not porous when thick, goopy mess sit on it.

Great for camping since it's 100% biodegradable!

My husband and I are both in our early eightys. I have been using paper plates for us for sometime. I decided to order a bunch of them, so I would not have to look for them in the grocery store. We do not shop because of back problems. This makes it so much nicer to order on line. These paper plates are very nice and can be used in the microwave.
