These are nice biodegradable bowls made of sugar-cane fiber. (No they do not contain sugar crystals-- just fiber). They are a great alternative to paper bowls which contain chemicals and pollute the environment. I have bought these bowls over and over, and obviously I like them a lot. The plates are great too. If you don't want to buy them here, you may also be able to find them at Whole Foods and Wild Oats. But as usual, Amazon has the best deals.

Best disposable bowl we have every encountered. We don't like plastic or styrfoam, not only for the environmental reasons, but also healthwise, plastic is not good to use with warm foods and liquids. Other paper products are too flimsy or don't hold liquid well.
These bowls are quite sturdy and even while holding soup, they maintain their strength and shape. We have the full line of stalkmarket products now. Bowls, plates, cups and are very pleased and continue to reorder them.

I love Stalkmarket products, and have used them for a number of parties. We ordered these bowls to serve beans in, but had no idea how *tiny* they would be. I guess it's my fault for not getting a 16 oz soda can out and comparing how meager 12 oz would be next to it. But still - they're barely big enough for a scoop of ice cream.

We have three cats, each with special diets that happen at different times of the day, plus a family that often grabs meals on the go. It was a relief to finally find some bowls that are disposable AND kind to the environment.
The best part about these bowls is how sturdy they are- not only do they strongly hold up to soups and moist cat food left in them for hours, but I have a few of them serving as saucers in my garden, and they have held up for weeks, despite being full of water time after time. We try not to use disposable except in situations where washing the dishes we are using over and over would be more of a strain on the environment than disposing, so that's why we have these bowls. But to be honest, if we weren't trying to be green, I would consider replacing our plates and other serving pieces with the Stalkmarket stuff, too. Sturdy, well made, thick, reliable. What more can you ask for?

I just bought a case of these. Despite spending time measuring liquids to get a sense of how large the bowls would be and reading reviews of each size, I finally decided on the 12 oz size to use as cat bowls. When they arrived this week I was surprised at how small they seem, and deep. Cats, at least mine, don't like deep bowls, as their whiskers get messy. But using flat plates meant that half the food wound up on the floor. I needed a happy medium. I found them at CVS, where they don't advertise by ounces but by inches. The 7 inch bowls are larger and flatter, and my cats seem to like them. They are, of course, more expensive, so I will have to use the case of these first.

We don't have a dishwasher and when the grandkids come to spend the weekend I'm constantly appalled at the huge quanity of dirty dishes that pile up. I found these low-cost disposable bowls that work wonders for us. Sometimes the kids have grapes, popcorn or a bowl of yogurt, and they eat it so fast that it's not in the bowls that long! Although they're called "soup bowls" so far I haven't used them for that purpose. They're not very wide, but kinda deep, so I think soup would be awkward to eat out of them. I have used them for hot food; buttered noodles, scrambled eggs, mashed potatoes, and they didn't soak through and held up nicely. I highly recommend these bowls and will definitely purchase them again.

A great addition to potlucks,

I love these bowls, too, and am so glad to see them available from Amazon, as they are hard to find in stores. The use that no one has mentioned, that I love them for, is potlucks. It expands the possibilities of what you can bring (soup, anyone?) when you can provide a small, separate container. Great, too, to help with portion control for food (like ice cream!) where it would otherwise be easy to go overboard. (I do wonder, though, why Amazon put these in the Health & Beauty category.)
