I really like the size, shape, and that this doesn't hurt the environment like foam containers, and that it can be used in the microwave.

But I bought this in the hope of making some dinners for my elderly parents, to bring over 2-3 times a week. This is no good for that. I tried this container many times myself. It does not close tightly, so you should seal it in a tightly closed plastic bag or plastic wrap while in the fridge. Also, the container itself absorbs liquid and gets soggy if you try to keep food in it for more than a day.

A local grocery store sells meals in a better product that can be used in the microwave. I know that's what I'm looking for... not sure if it's environmentally friendly, though.

August 2013 - I'm considering buying these again. They were handy to have. I kept some at work and could transfer leftovers from a restaurant foam container into these to microwave. Also good to put food into in the morning for heating at lunch. I'm almost out of them now - there were so many it took a long time to use them up.

i bought these to make frozen tv dinners for my convenience. instead of buying 20 store bought tv dinners, i decided it would be healthier if i just made my own. i used these containers for that, which did a decent job. the only problem is with a sauce, this container isn't good for it. it will soak. i just used plastic wrap on the bottom to prevent it. also for freezing, i had to wrap the container in foil. overall, it was good enough for what i was looking for. easy to microwave then throw away.

We use these to bring homemade lunches to work every day .... I love that they are biodegradable, recycled and there are no dishes to wash nightly - which saves a lot of time. Love, love, love it!

We have gone through about 750 of these in the last year. We use at least two of these almost on a daily basis to bring lunch/dinner to work. Although the price went up about $10 after February 2014 (the fist 250-count box cost me $43.10 back then), they are still the best option I've found (and I've looked a lot!). They are an excellent choice for short-term (< 24H, we prepare our food the night before), relatively solid food storage.
They need to be handled with care and you need a lunchbox with a hard lining to take them to work (we use this: Coleman 9-Can Soft Cooler With Hard Liner). They will also let some moisture out through the bottom just after you reheat your food in a microwave but a napkin or paper towel solves this issue. Of course you can find better containers, but these are the cheapest and more environmentally friendly option we've found so far that is good enough for our needs.
If you want something that you can throw pretty much anywhere and is guaranteed not to leak, then try these: 16 Oz. Clear Deli Containers Newspring w/ Lids Combo Pack 240. We actually use the plastic deli containers for soups and some "runny" fruits like watermelon and pineapple.

These were wonderful! Such a sturdy container! We used these for a picnic wedding dinner and they worked extremely well. Very thick construction. Would definitely order again.

I bought these to-go containers for my husband to take his lunch to work in. He kept leaving/losing my good tupperware at work, so I needed a better solution. These work for us. I love that they are made from recycled material and that they are biodegradable (makes me feel a little more eco-friendly than the standard styrofoam or plastic). My only complaint is that they are a little thinner than I expected, but that's a fair trade-off for the "green" feature of the product. It's not a big deal because my husband takes his lunch in a bag and then detaches the perforated lid and places it under the container when he heats it. He has no complaints, and I haven't lost anymore tupperware!
