I am a 62 year old male with type II diabetes. I have been having a problem with my blood sugar levels. I am allegic to the medications that I was given and I don't like taking pills anyway. I stay on a diet but that is not enough. I need to have a demanding cardio workout. I have been going to the local county park to walk but I must walk for an hour and half non-stop to make somekind of improvement in my glucose levels. Walking is great but its time consuming and I'm tired of having to deal with people's dogs, cyclists, and rainy weather.
I decided to purchase the Body Trac Glider 1050 in hopes that it would help with my diabetes. I have limited finances so I really hoped that I made a good choice.
The Body Trac Glider 1050 arrived yesterday afternoon. It was quite easy to assemble and, even in our small home, I will be able to store it.
Let's cut to the chase. This product is GREAT!! I used it twice yesterday afternoon for a total of 17 minutes. I checked my glucose much later and found it was down just as low as if I had walked for a hour and a half. What's more, you get a whole body, low impact workout with the Glider 1050. I like the meter - I can easily see how long I have be working out.
I used the Body Trac Glider 1050 for about 5 minutes last night. This morning my glucose is lower that it has ever been in the morning. I also must mention that I stay on a diet as I want to lose weight also.
This machine is well made, well worth the money, and is my life saver!!

I find this machine does just what I want and then some. There is a problem with the foot pedels....keeping your feet on them, but I read all the complaints on the other Stamina rowing maching ($139.99) and purchased this one anyway. I tried a few of the suggestions for keeping your feet on the pedels, but in the end, I just took the bar and pedels off. I rest my feet on the bottom front bar and I can really row without a problem. I really like it now because I have a greater range of push and pull than I did before. Be sure to wear good tennis shoes and buy the mat they suggest, it helps with the traction. I'm 67 years old, 5'4", 135 lb....I put this together all by myself in 50 minutes (my husband wants me to come to work in his construction business). The only other problem that I came across was - be sure to set squarely on the seat, otherwise you may come to a sudden stop....you'll see what I mean if you get this machine.

Okay, when I first received the machine assembly was VERY easy. I used it for about and hour, and the wheels on the seat became wobbly and started sticking. I contacted Stamina Products via email, and they quickly sent me new wheels, saying there was a manufacturing defect with the old ones. No problem. The machine is smooth and easy to use, but the seat is VERY uncomfortable. I feel it needs extra padding. After 20 min. of use I usually have to stop and give my butt a break. The foot pedals are near to impossible to keep your feet in, which can be very annoying when trying to have a smooth workout. I can't complain too much, considering how little I paid. I'm fairly happy with it, it doesn't take up a lot of room and it's great for a quick anytime workout.

PROs - The Trac Glider met my expectation for a rowing a machine. The back and forth motion with the swinging out oars is hard to beat. The machine has helped me meet my goal for strengthening my upper body, and especially my shoulders. The one cylinder instead of two works super well. The seat glides like it should, even though it squeaked until I oiled it. The machine is sturdy and well balanced I'm using it on a wood floor, and it doesn't move around as I row.
CONS - The "U" shaped tube that holds up the "computer" is totally useless, as are the pedals. Because of a problem with a weld that created a bump, the U shaped tube did not sit flat, and the holes for the bolts did not align at all. Throw them away and do not even try to assemble them. The U shaped tube makes the rower more bulky and does not add anything to it. I used velcro to attach the computer to the front of the rower, and it works fine. The "computer" is anything but reliable. I have no problem rowing without the pedals. I'm sure that it's better without the pedals.

Just got the machine in the mail and put it together. It was easy to put together, folds up easily to put away and its easy on the eyes. The LCD display is clear and helpful.

The machine feels structually sound however, the resistance is not what I expected. It provides a good workout for begginers but if you have been in the gym for a while, this product wont provide enough of a challenge. There is no resistance on the seat - only the handle bars and the velcro straps for the feet dont work very well. Otherwise, the machine works great! It is an economical option for a rowing machine compared to others in its class.

P.S. the products max weight is 250lbs.

This rower works great and gives a great workout. However, the end of the metal bar where the seat slides was bent and two plastic parts were broken during shipping which resulted in open sharp metal without a cover. I accidently tripped over it and cut my ankle quite badly. My husband straightened the metal out but the new plastic end cover still does not fit...so it's covered with tape. I like the workout as it rows as in "sculling" which is what I wanted.
