The Stamina 55-2065 Elliptical/Stepper is a nice piece of equipment. The assembly was pretty straight-forward. It took about an hour and thirty minutes which I don't think was too bad. This machine is not totally quiet but it doesn't make any squeaking, squealing and/or knocking noises like other ellipticals that I've tried. I love the great workout you get with this machine. It works almost every muscle in my body. The workout programs are quite challenging, which is a good thing. I'm still on Level 1 whereas when I was going to the gym and using their machines I was on Level 5. So this is no easy machine, again, that's a good thing.

Likes:
- Straight-forward assembly
- Very nice looking and sleek design
- Takes up little space and quite compact especially if you want to put it in a small space like a bedroom(where I have mine).
- Two machines in one! It's an elliptical and a stepper and it's easy to switch from one to the other. There's your value right there. No need to buy two machines.
- Well laid out out button controls and clear display
- A nice variety of different settings to try or to challenge yourself. They'll always be a program that will give you the intense workout that you want. So this machine is great for people of all fitness levels.

Dislike:
- The dual action bars tend to be a bit on the wobbly side. No amount of screw tightening seems to alleviate this. I'm not sure if this is normal for this type of machine or my product has a defect of some kind.

Minor or knit-picking gripes ;-):
- I wish there was a heart rate monitor on the dual action bars and not just on the stationary bars.
- I wish the display was backlit.
- I wish the water bottle holder could accommodate thicker sized bottles. I know the machine comes with a bottle but I like to use the one I've always used.

All and all, I'm quite pleased with the Stamina 55-2065. I did months of research to try and find the right elliptical. I read both the positive and negative reviews for other machines and I was scared to purchase one until I came across this one. I'm glad I listened to the reviews and got it. This is a solid machine and will definitely give you the workout you need. No more gym membership for me.

I purchased this product a month ago and have been nothing but happy with it. Assembly took approx. an hour and a half. and was not a huge headache. It is very quiet and smooth. I love all the information the control panel offers. I'm not real impressed with the heart rate monitor, but I don't believe they're real accurate on a machine anyway. I would suggest purchasing a separate monitor you wear on your wrist if this is important to you. It is real easy to change between elliptical and stepper. My husband uses this machine also and is equally impressed.

This is a smooth, sophisticated, state of the art machine, totally quiet and extremely comfortable. Assembled in a few hours. ABsolutely 100% pleased with it. So many different programs you never get bored. Water bottle holder right in front of you. Heart rate detector works great. It will even tell you your target heart rate by entering your age. It also arrived within 2 weeks. With FREE shipping. I have seldom been so pleased with a product. You can also re-set the levels within each program according to your level of difficulty. User friendly, sharp looking, quiet, and worth the money.

This is as close to gym quality as you'll find. For the money, its unbeatable. The elliptical is a far better workout than the stepper so you would probably never use the stepper feature. Perfectly silent, solid as a rock....smooth action, easy to assemble and a full function computer. Could use maybe one or two higher resistance levels, but still, the existing max isn't bad. You will sweat like crazy on this. The body fat calculator, like all the rest out there is completely inaccurate and useless. Only the pinch caliper test gives an accurate body fat reading.

I was unsure between this elliptical/stepper and the model below it but now that I have purchased this I couldn't be happier. It is so easy to switch between modes, I love the programed workouts, I feel I am getting a great workout even at the lowest resistance, its fun, low impact, the water bottle holder is so convenient, compact design, overall a wonderful product! I own 2 Stamina exercise equipment and I am a believer. Great price, wonderful workout, and the first piece of equipment still works like new after 18 months of use.

This is the coolest piece of equipment that I have ever owned. It works out your entire body. I have gotten the best workouts with this piece of equipment and I feel it in every muscle. I am glad that I made this investment and I recommend it to others.

This product was squeaky at first but now runs very smooth with use. I'm a 27 year old 200 pound athletic male and this machine kicks the crap out of me. Highly recommended.

You will most likely need 2 people to put this together. Or 1 mechanically inclined person. I did it alone but it was a struggle, I was too tired to use it when I was finished.

It is a nice solid machine, with good programmable options, espically for the price. It is a little less smooth turning than I'd like, so it has a little more of a walking/running feel than the expensive ellipticals you use at the gym, but the important part was to lessen the impact on the knees which this machine does effectively.

For the price, it is a well-built machine. I would reccommend it.

So far this has been a great buy. The free shipping was wonderful. The company called and worked with me on delivery, which was very helpful with my work schedule. The assembly was about 1 1/2 hours from start to finish as others have said. It definitely helps to place all the tools and parts out on a flat surface so they are easily identifiable and handy. The directions were easy to follow, and I was able to assemble it pretty painlessly. Switching from elliptical to stepper mode is so easy, it is hard to believe you get all of this for the price. The machine is super quiet to operate. There are lots of pre-programmed workouts. The first workout was challenging. It will definitely be a great cross training tool.

I purchased this item in September 2009. Within 30 days the monitor quit recording distance and calories burned. This was annoying, but the machine still worked great, so no worries. I use this machine about 3 days a week for 20-30 minutes, so it is not used heavily. It recently developed a horrendous popping noise in the main body of the machine. It will now not increase resistance, or once it does, it will not decrease the resistance. The monitor completely shuts down in the middle of a work out, which is very annoying. I have owned this machine less than a year, and already I am going to have to give it away and try to find something else. I had a Tony Little "gazelle" before this that I paid 85.00 for. I put over 500 miles on that machine before it gave out. This is definitely not worth the money or time. I had thought by buying a machine that got such a high star rating that I would get my money's worth, BIG mistake. Do not waste your time with this product.
