The Air Rower from Stamina is designed to offer a smooth, solid, and comfortable rowing workout at home for a low-impact, full-body workout. By utilizing wind for rowing resistance, the Air Rower allows the user to determine the resistance intuitively--the harder and faster the user rows, the greater the resistance will be. A built-in multifunction monitor displays distance, calories burned, speed, and time as you workout.

Built for smooth operation, the Air Rower features an oversized, angled seat rail and smooth sliding seat for easy seat return. The seat is padded and upholstered for comfort and the textured grips are designed for a stable and secure grip while rowing. Large footplates and adjustable nylon foot straps accommodate any size of user. When you're not using the Air Rower, the steel frame folds and rolls away on built-in wheels.

Row Your Way to Fit Living

The fitness community’s migration back to the former king of cardio, the high-quality rowing machine, continues to gain support—for good reason. After trying any Stamina Rowing Machine, you’ll understand why our line of rowers is so popular.

Combined with Stamina’s commitment to engineering excellent products, advances in rowing machine technology have resulted in comfortable, easy-to-use rowers that perform reliably and provide the low-impact, full-body cardio fitness workout your body craves. While weighing the value of a Stamina rower, you’re naturally wondering if it will let you shed those extra pounds and work your way toward a chiseled body—and the mental & emotional benefits that stem from a stronger, healthier you.

You’re asking yourself smart questions about Stamina’s quality rowing machines:

Can I really sculpt my body without going to the gym?

Will I get condition both my upper and lower body at once?

Will I get an efficient, effective aerobic workout that burns calories?

Can I get the benefits of a challenging cardio workout without hurting myself?

The answer is yes. With an in-home rower, you’ve got all you need to shape a beautiful body. Rowers work all major muscle groups in both the lower and upper body, pushing your heart rate and burning more calories per hour than other residential exercise equipment. Finally, the low-impact motion minimizes joint stress, reducing injury risks.

This was very easy to put together.

In short, I like this thing and see it as a good alternative for the workout I get from kayaking, because I can not get out to go kayaking all the time.

First, it has no damper, so no setting resistance.

It's easy to put together and works smoothly. The rower itself is decent, but depends on what you plan to use it for. If you are a beginning rower or plan to use it competitively or even to warm up before going out on the water, I would not recommend this product. Rowing is a leg sport and all the high end machines I've used are built with this in mind. This Stamina Air Rower however, had an issue with this concept; the resistance on the band didn't kick in until I was into the last part of my stroke (the arms). The basic pattern of a stroke is legs, back, arms. Your legs are supposed to do the hardest work because they fatigue the least, but because of where the highest amount of resistance kicked in, my arms did the bulk of the work and I tired out way too quick.

If you buy it for general exercise or for therapeutic reasons, it's probably ok. Alternatively, if you are a regular rower and have been in shells this is not a device for you, not even for warming up - you'll be frustrated with it quickly. It might be ok if you have really short arms and really long legs though.

Lastly, the metal support under where the foot braces are was bent upward so when I folded it for storage it was fine, but when I tried to unfold it, I had tons of trouble. I ultimately returned it for a refund because of this and because of the reasons mentioned above.

I used this rowing machine every day for about 3 years and it's still in excellent condition. I'm passing it on to a friend, since I now use other forms of exercise. I lost a lot of weight with this machine, so I highly recommend it. It gives a terrific, total body workout...tones all the muscles, gives good cardio exercise, and offers plenty of resistance. It's easy to use and offers low impact workouts. There's no variety, but rowing itself is an excellent form of exercise, and can be alternated with other types of workouts.

It was easy to put together, and everything was included. It is quiet and works well. Be sure you notice that the weight restriction is 250 pounds. I'd amend that to 225 pounds to be safe. It isn't gym quality, but neither is the price. Ours gets used ever day for about 1.5 hours.

I used to row regularly on a Concept2 at my University, and it was a great full body workout. After finishing school, I wanted to get a rower to add to my humble home gym. I looked at the Concept2 and they cost over a thousand dollars. While they are worth the money, they are not in my budget being a recent grad. I bought this rower and although it is not as great as a Concept2, it provides a pretty decent workout. You cannot beat $299 for a rowing machine. It definitely does require you to use more upper body strength, and it is difficult to get the heart rate up, but after using it about 5 times, I have adjusted to it. I am able to get a pretty good workout from it, and it seems to be holding up well. This is a good rower if you are on a budget. I think it will last me long enough, until I can afford a Concept2. I have not had any issues with it so far, and it only took about 30 minutes for me to put it together. It is light weight and hardly takes up any space. The only con I have thus far besides its comparison to a Concept2, is the noise level. It definitely sounds like you're firing up a jet engine.

I got this machine a week ago and I love it. First let me thank the person who put together the assembly instructions. It was so simple! The instructions were great and the pieces easy to figure out.
I see that someone else mentions that the leg resistance isn't very strong and that it isn't adjustable...I wish I had read that prior to purchase. Its not bad - in fact it's a pretty good workout but I do wish it had more leg resistance. With that in mind, I contacted the company's customer service department to see if there were any suggestions for increasing resistance. The email is to funny not to share...its pasted below:

Hello,
I recently purchased the Stamina Air Rower. I notice that there isn't much leg resistance. Is there a way to increase it? Thank you.

"There is no way to increase the resistance on an air rower. You just have to workout faster.

So basically, Dawnese is telling me to stop being lazy and work out harder. Before you buy this machine and take that advice...be sure to read about proper body mechanics and that speeding up the exercise does not necessarily make it a better workout. [...]

Good luck!

I use the more expensive rower at the Y sometimes and find that the Stamina is just as good. Highly recommended!
