5.0 out of 5 stars A well made piece of equipment
I was concerned before I bought this that the arm cycle would not offer resistance. One other reviewer had mentioned that. You do get adjustable resistance but only when using it alone and not pedaling the bike at the same time. I wish the arm cycle offered more resistance than it does but after several minutes of use you can feel it working and you can raise your...

3.0 out of 5 stars fit for physical therapy?
As a physical therapist, I was in need of an upper body exerciser.
The stamina elite in general does a good job, but in my eyes has a few shortcomings.
There is no resistance on the upper body pedals when you're bicycling at the same time, and there is no resistance when you're pedalling backwards on the upper body either.
The seat tightener also is a...

5.0 out of 5 stars A well made piece of equipment, May 27, 2009

I was concerned before I bought this that the arm cycle would not offer resistance. One other reviewer had mentioned that. You do get adjustable resistance but only when using it alone and not pedaling the bike at the same time. I wish the arm cycle offered more resistance than it does but after several minutes of use you can feel it working and you can raise your heart rate quite easily. This unit would be great for someone with bad knees who has trouble using a treadmill. This is the only decent arm cycle I found and with my knee problems I use that feature much more than the bicycle. The recumbent seat is very comfortable and easy to adjust front and back. I am 6'3" and have no problems with the seat adjustment. There are the side handles you can hold onto while using the bike. There is no cup holder as some have mentioned. Easy assembly and the funky tools they give you do work but if you had a 13mm & 15mm socket and ratchet it speeds up assembly time considerably. Look for a deal that offers free shipping because without that, it is $70.00 to ship, ouch!

There is no resistance on the upper body pedals when you're bicycling at the same time, and there is no resistance when you're pedalling backwards on the upper body either.
The seat tightener also is a little cumbersome and required a call to the manufacturer after trying different configurations.

All in all, about what I expected considering the price, other UBE's sell for $2000.00 and up.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great home recumbent bike, May 14, 2008

This bike was easy to assemble, not much to put together and took me only 1 and a half hours. It works as well as the more expensive one at the employee gym where I work. My husband is using it,giving up the treadmill and loves it. It is good to tone your body and for a great cardio workout. I highly recommend this bike.It is not a boring piece of exercise equipment.

My daughter uses just the foot pedals of this bike. Being handicapped, I use just the hand pedals of the bike. It works well for boith of us. It operates smoothly and quietly and gives a good workout used either way. I am satisfied with my purchase... it seems like a good, quality product.

5.0 out of 5 stars Very pleased, January 28, 2011
This review is from: Stamina Elite Total Body Recumbent Bike (Sports)
I received this bike yesterday around noon. I spent hours on the net researching reviews for exercise equipment. It took me and my child only 2 hours to assemble. Husband simply tightened the screws and bolts etc. when he came home from work. I spend 35 minutes on it pedaling my legs, followed by 10 minutes of arm pedaling. I am a member of Bally's Health Club but since I started homeschooling my child, I had to find something to do inside my home for this year. It is a good piece of equipment for the price. Also, you do not get resistance if you pedal any of the pedals backwards. It is ok by me that I have to work out my arms and legs seperately because otherwise I would end up bumping my knees with the arm pedals. But yes, resistance only comes if arm and foot pedals are used seperately.
The seat is tight, I have had no problems with the seat being loose. I have a box fan set up in front of bike that I use, I have a small table next to the bike that I set my towel and water bottle on. I feel so great being able to exercise again The resistant levels are from one to eight. Believe me, that is enough. Very quiet machine. Due to the newness of product I honestly do not know yet how it will hold up over time. I am fifty years old, 5foot 4inches tall and weigh 125 pounds. I have a black belt in Taekwondo, and this workout is almost as intense as a TKD class. Unfortunately, I blew out my knee a year ago and was forced to join Bally's and use a stationary bike and the weights. Now that I am stuck at home homeschooling, this is a great alternative. I am pleased with the choice.

5.0 out of 5 stars Worth the money, July 1, 2010

I bought the Stamina Elite Total Body Recumbent Bike based on other reveiws. I was not disappointed at all. One reviewer suggested that if you had a 13mm rachet wrench it would help with assembly and it really did make a difference putting it together. I am a 61 year old women and I managed to put the bike together without any help. I used a dolly to move it to where I wanted to set it up and was able to put it together in about an hour. The bike provides a very comfortable and quiet workout.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Bike, February 24, 2009
This review is from: Stamina Elite Total Body Recumbent Bike (Sports)
There was assembly required but the directions were laid out well and easy to follow. The bike is very quiet. It has a lot of room for adjustment which was important as I am not tall. The seat can be adjusted in seconds for another user of a different height. I love the bike and it doesn't take up much room at all. I would definetly recommend it, especially with the arm attachment which was hard to find.

4.0 out of 5 stars It is a keeper, September 4, 2009
This review is from: Stamina Elite Total Body Recumbent Bike (Sports)
The Stamina Elite is the latest addition to my workout equipment and has become a regular in my daily routine. It was delivered undamaged due to the excellent packing. It assembles easily in about 20 minutes. The arm exercise is a good warmup but cannot be used simultaneous with the peddle action. I had a lower back strain and this workout put no stress on my back. The seat is comfortable but is hard to adjust. I would recommend a recumbent bike for your workout equipment and the Stamina Elite is a good product.

Assembly is required and I did it by myself. I find I enjoy exercising and getting a good work out with this piece of equipment. It doesn't take up much space and is super quiet. My knees hurt when I used my treadmill and they feel great when using the bike.
