Stamina Fold-to-Fit Folding Equipment Mat (84-Inch by 36-Inch)

My wife uses and elliptical machine religiously. We just moved into a different home that happens to have brand new carpet. We naturally wanted an exercise equipment mat to protect the flooring. The placement of the equipment, however, is in a corner where too long of a mat would have extended into a traffic area. After looking at all the mats on Amazon, it was obvious that the standard length is 70+" (72 mostly) whereas we needed just 60-65".

We ordered this mat and placed it under the machine. It is 84 inches long segmented into 12" folding sections. The material is very high quality and it does not mark or stain the carpet. With the folds, this mat fit perfectly under our unit. It should be noted that the elliptical has front and rear feet with a raised portion in between. The folded section fits underneath this raised portion. If you have a flat or wobbly piece of equipment, you may not want to fold the mat as the folded section is obviously a tad higher than the adjacent mat. It was perfect for what we needed.

The Stamina earns its 5 stars for providing value (good function on a relatively low price) and convenience as it can fold in a 3 ft. by 1 ft. bundle for quick and easy storage when needed if one must exercise in a room whose primary function may be something other than a home gym. I purchased mine for my treadmill and I am very happy with my purchase, so far.

Briefly, here are the more important facts worth knowing:

- 3 ft. wide by 7 ft. long. It's the perfect size for my full-size treadmill.
- Divided into 7 folds, 1 ft. each, making it easy to pack/unpack when needed.
- 1/4 inch thick, dense foam synthetic material.
- Textured surface.
- Slippery when wet.
- Easy to clean.
- 90 days limited warranty which, as it's ALWAYS the case with item in this price range is mostly symbolic - if it comes broken, simply return it.

The Stamina spent a couple of months under a treadmill that's used almost daily, often by more than one person. Unlike the rubber-coated equipment mats, this one sticks to the floor and holds the treadmill in place at the same time. I have no complaints at this time and, in fact, I am about to order a second one, probably the 6 ft. version, for our little Bowflex.

So, we have a very heavy treadmill, probably in the top 5% of treadmill size and weight, and this thing is being turned into a rag doll by the treadmill. However, the way this is made with the same materials as any other mat, so I'm not sure it's the mat's problem. The mat is also on carpet, which is harder. So net net --- this thing isn't perfect, but I'm struggling if it's a problem with the mat or if it would have happened regardless.

I bought this product mainly because it folded flat and figured it would pack better when/if I had to move it. What a great buy it was, it came packed well and was pretty light weight. It was so simple to move the treadmill, unfold the mat and then put the treadmill back on. It is a bit to long but I just refolded one of the sections and it is perfect.

Finally, a wide enough mat. Wide enough for a man. Actually, a smallish sweaty man. Sweating on the carpet is not cool. Working out partially on a mat and partially on tile/wood just plain sux.

Mostly though, I want a mat large enough to catch all that drippage so I can hose the thing off every now and then and make things clean again.

This mat is large enough that I can have both hands and both feet on it during push-ups. Those little yoga roll ups and stuff aren't sufficient. Also, my recumbent stationary bike fits completely over it. Once again, no sweat on the carpet.

This mat does fold up for storage/haulage and isn't very heavy. The material isn't nearly as robust as the stuff my treadmill mat is made from. On the other hand, that mat isn't going anywhere because it's too heavy and doesn't roll up well or easily.

This mat, however, is just about perfect for plopping on the carpet and getting some exercise.

This mat did not have that rubber smell that most matts have. I opened it outside, thinking I would need to leave it outside for a while to "air" to lose that rubbery smell. There was no smell and I brought it in immediately after unpacking it.

I bought this mat since one of my clients was getting shin splints from the cardio in the garage. Now the client no longer has shin splints and exercise can continue. It works great. The guys love to use it as a stretching mat too.

I bought this mat because it has a larger size. I use it on my carpet floor for Yoga, Cardio, push-up, and sit-up, and I love it. I don't think it goes well with equipment cause it is too thin for heavy equipment. Best price and quick delivery. Amazon rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have hardwood floors and went without mats underneath my cardio machines in my home gym for years. However, because my gym is on the second floor there was a lot of "boom, boom, boom" when using the treadmill for anyone downstairs. Because this eliminated vibration and impact, it not only protects the machine and my joints better (because my knees don't absorb the shock so much now that it's distributed somewhat to the mat), but it decreases sound.

However, if you have carpet on your floors this also protects your machines from having close contact with carpet fibers which can lodge in the mechanisms and decrease oiled surfaces creating wear on the machines.

Better yet, it cleans easily and unlike other mats I looked at it does fold to fit the size you need. Works well for me and I have it under the heaviest treadmill I think I've ever encountered in my life...and it's holding up well.

I have a mat under my Sole E35 (elliptical) and Sole F80 (treadmill). I wanted to protect the flooring underneath (hardwood and tile) and for that they are perfect. It does make it more difficult to roll the machines on the mats, but nothing prohibitive. As a cushion to lessen the sounds of impact from the treadmill, however, it's not really effective. I'm still searching for that. I also wanted to note that the sizing is perfect and no folding or cutting was necessary for the Sole machines.
