Forget the gym. Now you can enjoy a full cardio workout in the comfort of your home or office with this compact elliptical trainer from Stamina Products. Unlike full-size ellipticals, this trainer doesn't have arms or a front console. Instead, the trainer is essentially foot pedals only, with a chassis that's small enough to store under a desk or in a closet. Despite the small size, the trainer still packs a workout wallop, letting you burn a similar number of calories as jogging but without the risk of injury to the back, knees, hips, or ankles. Just keep your feet moving on the pedals--which continually oscillate in a low-impact manner--and you're set. Other details include sturdy steel construction, non-slip pedals, and an electronic fitness monitor that tracks the number of strides per minute, total number of strides, exercise time, and calories burned.

About Elliptical Trainers
Elliptical trainers represent the next wave of advancement in low-impact cardiovascular exercise machines and continue to grow in popularity. By simulating motions experienced through walking, stepping, cycling, and skiing, elliptical machines allow for a smooth and fluid motion while building strength in the arms and legs. Similar to the exercise position for treadmills, elliptical trainers are used by standing in an upright position while holding the handrails of the machine. With elliptical trainers, however, your feet remain in the foot pedals throughout the exercise regimen and circulate in a smooth and seamless motion, resulting in little to no impact on the knees, back, and hips.

Elliptical trainers are compatible for all ages and fitness levels and allow you to select the difficulty level through the incline and intensity settings. Additionally, elliptical trainers allow you to determine the complexity of your workout based on your needs, all while listening to music, watching television, or reading a magazine while exercising in the comfort and safety of your own home.

Although different types of elliptical trainers offer an assortment of features, many of them include an array of challenging programs, forward and reverse directional movement, EKG grip pulse handles, a lightweight portable design with easy fold-up capability, and a monitor displaying calories burned, distance, speed, time, and heart rate. Other types of exercise machines, namely treadmills and bikes, offer excellent cardiovascular exercise and muscular training for the legs in a forward-motion exercise. Elliptical trainers take this to the next level by offering an upper and lower body workout with dual motion, challenging and diverse programs, and a low-impact exercise machine that won't strain sensitive joints.

This machine is a good value for the money. It basically is great for warming up your legs before more strenuous exercise or just putting in a nice 10-15 minutes of cardio, and it has the benefit of allowing you to operate it in reverse, which is very good for your heart, by the way. The tension is easy to adjust, but the position of the counter is not optimal. I weigh 190 and have used this machine probably a dozen times without an issue, and my wife has used it at least that many times. Be aware that when you're done exercising, be careful when you pick it up because the housing for the pedals gets hot during use. I would buy this again.

I see that this item is the GB Deal of the Day. While I did not purchase this through amazon my girlfriend did by this exact item else where. Even though this is portable, its still a little heavy, although about what I expected. You obviously need some weight to the machine. After 15 minutes of use the right footplate snapped off and my girlfriend almost broke her ankle. Within a day we exchanged it, read the instruction even more carefully, and had the same thing happen. Needless to say the next time we just got our money back. Be warned.

I purchased this item because I had injured my achilles tendon and couldn't use my treadmill. Because of its design, I was able to use the elliptical to continue exercising without causing further injury to my tendon.

i wish to give ZERO STARS for this elliptical and the seller PlumStruck. PlumStruck has the WORST customer service!!! DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM PlumStruck! i received shipment sometimes b/w Nov. 5 and 8 and I sent the request to return the product on Dec. 2. So I definitely made the return request within 30 days of receiving this product. But PlumStruck kept on insisting that the 30-days return policy had expired and that there was nothing they could do.

This elliptical was cumbersome to assemble and it would occasionally tip sideways. my family and I all weigh under 150 lb. At first, we thought we would just have to be careful and be balanced while exercising on this machine, but all three of us (my husband, my daughter and I) have fallen a few times from the machine. we decided to return it on 12/2/13 since my daughter sustained ankle sprain from falling off this machine AGAIN that day!!!

I had high hopes for this product, based on the descriptions I'd read. Unfortunately, it didn't live up to them from two different perspectives:

1) When used as a standing "elliptical," the stride length was so short that my legs barely moved. It was awkward to use and I didn't really feel like I was doing much.

2) When used in a sitting position, it was suggested the product could be utilized at work, under a desk. However, anybody who has said that must have a much higher desk than normal. I tried it under both my computer desk and regular desk and I was banging my knees on both of them.

That's not to say the product has no uses. I gave it away to somebody who plans to use it while sitting on the couch and watching TV. They don't have to worry about banging their knees on anything and it will at least keep the blood flowing a little bit.

I love this!!
In the past I tried going cheap and bought an under the bed cheapo treadmill that I dumped almost immediately because it was so unsafe. Than I spent $1,200.00 on a full size elliptical trainer. Within 8 months it was making horrible squeaking noises. Finally my husband took it apart to find stripped bolts and a cracked frame. To add insult to injury, the computer quit when he finally got it all lubed and tightened up. I have always loathed how much room this took up so I was very interested in something smaller. I didn't expect much out of this but I was wrong. I have long been looking for an upper body work out, with my old elliptical I could cheat fairly easily, but with this I can try many different options. Be careful, I thought this thing wasn't getting the job done so I hit it pretty hard. I paid the next day, very sore, even my legs.

When the elliptical trainer arrived at my home and was put together by my son, my entire family joked about it. I even got to thinking that this was the worst purchase I ever made.
Then I tried it, and what a surprise! After a few minutes on the trainer, my heart rate increased and I could feel the workout in my legs! In addition, it is so compact, and it was so inexpensive, that my husband will not complain in the likely event that I will stop using it. Score!!!
