I can't be 100% sure this is the same model I have at home, but it looks the same in the photos.
I bought it for around $150 at Walmart and couldn't be happier. I've had it for a year, use it often and it is still in top shape. It doesn't have a heart monitor in the handgrips but it does have one on the display panel. It is as advertised, silent in operation. I get a great workout using it as does my wife. My kids like to give it a go as well. My only complaint is I'd like to make the resistance harder now that I've had some time on it, but even at the MAX setting, it is still easy for me. Which is no big deal, I just move faster and still get a great workout. I suppose I could take it apart again and adjust the tension cable, but like I said, it is not that big a deal. I am not sure why anyone would spend a load of money on a more expensive model, this one has been great.

Decent value so far.,

This seems to be a pretty decent value model. It's definitely not as sturdy as a high priced model you'd find at a gym, but so far it's pretty stable. We'll see how it holds up after 3 months of heavy use.
Someone that has been using these at the gym for a long time and is used to higher resistance would be disappointed with how light level 8 resistance is, but it's fine for me. My biggest complaint is that the fitness monitor that came with it didn't work right out of the box, but the Stamina company has said they'll send me a new one. Bottom line, as long as I get a working fitness monitor, this was a great buy for the price.

I think this machine is good for starters but can get a little boring at times........ Pop in a dvd and pump those thighs!!!!!!
It is sturdy and didnt take that long to put together, clear instructions. Doesnt take up alot of room, isnt an "eye-sore" in the room and I feel it was a good deal for the price of $199.00 on sale....... Free shipping didnt hurt either! All in all I give it FOUR STARZZZZZ!

I was looking at the $800 Schwinn Elliptical until I realized that the one praised in Consumer Reports was the 2005 version not the 2006 version. I also read some bad reviews so I started looking around until I found this one. I'm so glad I did! It's excellent. I was able to assemble it in less than two hours (even though I'm not very handy) and it worked well right away. It's very smooth, not very loud, and just works perfectly. I'm so glad I didn't pay an extra $600 for a more expensive model.
The resistance is not very significant as everyone else mentioned (there are only eight settings) but I like it without a huge amount of resistance. I don't know how many pounds it will hold but I've been told that the difference between the expensive elliptical machines ($3K and up) is that they are made for gyms so they hold up to 450 lbs, work despite constant use, and come with more extensive warranties. Some of the Stamina's features are actually better than the one I used at the gym (for example, the electronic monitor holds your information for four minutes if you stop using it while most machines only hold your info for 30-120 seconds before resetting). It also works with 2 AA batteries (which are included) so you don't need to put it near a plug. The only things that are missing are a little ledge to hold a book and a water bottle holder but I suppose one could add them with a little creativity. I find that this one is perfect for home use.

I bought this for my wife because of it's low cost. You get what you pay for. She uses it a few times a week. After a little more then a month, the left pedal broke. She is not overweight at all, so that wasn't the problem.
I'll spend the money for a good one next time.

The trainer arrived on schedule in an undamaged box but all the parts were on the bottom of the box and the plastic bags and Styrofoam packing pieces were just piled on top. It was evident that the trainer had been previously assembled by the tool marks on the nuts and bolts. One nut has been tightened so tight it was broken and several nuts and bolts were missing. No problem for me, I got lots of nuts and bolts. I believe it had been tested and returned to the folks in Kansas who got it confused with a new one and shipped out the unopened returned box (or they did it intentionally). They should have noticed the box had about three rolls of tape around it! Probably should have sent it back but would have been very expensive. Got it together easy and it works fine though. Not really silent but much quieter than trainers with fan type resistance. Seems strong but I weigh 220 lbs and the manual (used) states you should not exceed 250 lbs. We'll see if it stays together without breaking. The product description states; "Choose from six pre-programmed workouts..." but it has no pre-programmed nothing. The meter is a simple timer with speed, time, distance ,calories and pulse. On the bright side the heart rate sensor works better than I expected. With all that, I still like the thing. It's much better that my treadmill which hurts my knee. If I had received a new machine, I would give it 5 stars.
16 months later and it still works great. I been using it daily. A couple of bolts came loose and it started to squeak but a drop of oil and a little tightening and works like new. I would like to have more resistance but heck, I'm still pleased.

A 6-month product,

I bought this after comparing a lot of other machines on amazon. This seemed to be on the cheaper side and I was not willing to invest in a more expensive machine. Initially this seemed to work out great, I was able to use this machine 5 days a week for 4 months with no problems(dropping 30 lbs in the process), other than a little noise.
But after that, it just went downhill. The axle just broke while i was on it. The right part just snapped from the axle. I had to pay to get a new axle (since it was out of warranty and they sent me a different sized axle the first time), and after installing it, it seemed to work fine for sometime. But now the machine has just started to squeak really bad. And no amount of grease has managed to help it. I have to just put it down to bad design. A lot of joints seem to get more pressure than they can handle (and I dont consider myself to be that overweight). So like some of the other reviews, you basically pay for what you get.

Easy Machine,

This review is from: Stamina Silent Magnetic Resistance Cross Trainer Elliptical (Sports)
Although I'm not sure that I would call it whisper quiet, at least not by my definition, it's is by no definition loud. I really like this machine. It was easy to put together, easy to understand display and easy to use. There are 8 resistance settings and even setting 2 you can feel the machine working. I like that there are no wires or clip-ons for a heart/pulse monitor, simply hold onto the handles and you get that information. It is heavy so make sure you have someone to help you get it inside but all in all, this machine is a winner!

The screen did not function properly and I've had troubles just getting that replaced instead of sending the whole thing back. The rest of the trainer works like it should and was simple to put together.

Cross trainer is excellent in quality. Just as good, if not better then like excercisors of different manufactures and brands.I am quite happy with the price and quality and not to mention the fast delivery.
