1.0 out of 5 stars If you have one of the books below, DON'T BUY THIS BOOK, June 21, 2004

I am so tired of the way Rockport repackages their older books into new ones. I bought this book, sight unseen, online, and I'm extremely sorry that I did so. This book is a simple republication of projects from three prior Rockport titles: "Stamp Artist's Project Book" and "Stamp Art" both by Sharilyn Miller and "Stamping Tricks for Scrapbooks" by Betty Auth. What a rip-off. They have done this before...republishing projects from old books into compilations, slapping on new covers and selling these as "new" titles. Don't be fooled as I was...avoid buying this book if you have the other titles!

I've had this book in my library for some time, and what I like most about it, is that the techniques and styles of rubber stamping it show cases, never seem to go out of "style", and it is a book you can go to for help again and again. There are some basic instructions in the beginning of the book, but I do think that this book is geared more to the experienced stamper. Some of the projects are complex, and list materials that one starting out, may not have in their stash of supplies. But instructions are very clear, and those wanting to learn new techniques, will find this book most helpful. The illustrations alone are very helpful. I really liked the projects for the fabric art doll, the pillow beads, elegant brooches, rolled up beads, and the tag art projects, and also,if you enjoy making cards and playing with different background techniques, you will find, this alone, a wonderful resource.
