I've been listening to Stan Freberg's United States of America since I was ten. I can't even guess how many times I've heard it. Fifty years later, after listening once again fifteen minutes ago, it seems to have lost nothing. Meanwhile, I have evolved from an awkward, brainy kid with a crew cut into an awkward, brainy man with no hair on the top and a great shaggy white beard, like Santa Claus. And Stan Freberg still makes me smile. I can't imagine anyone who grew up in America failing to enjoy it,At $4.50 this MP3 is a ridiculous steal, worth the money just to hear the great Jesse White play King Ferdinand. And now it has migrated to the Cloud, ascending to Audio Heaven on an enchanted stream of golden bits. Do yourself a favor and listen to this gem. I'm just saying.
