The Stansport® Sojourn trekking pole can easily be used to give you extra traction and stability when wading, hiking or walking. The 3-section, 7075 aluminum alloy pole extends from 24-in to 54-in long with a positive locking system. It's equipped with a carbide tip and an ergonomic cork handle with a nylon adjustable strap. An extra tip cover and basket are included for different terrains.

I have trekked (hiked) for hundreds of miles with trekking poles. They give you the balance of a four legged animal, take a load off your knees, work your upper body as well as lower, and can fend off animals.
