This book is not just for new hunter's. Mr Smith does an excellent job in giving the reader an honest and non-chest thumping guide on the use of stands for deer hunters. He even talks about areas/states that don't allow trees tands and how to utilize the ground blind.
Mr smith gives very easy to read and understand examples and does so with an honesty and without trying to come off as a know it all type. He speaks of different cover and terrain and speaks of different weapons used and pulls it all off quite well. As stated earlier, this book is not just for new guys, older experienced hunters can pick up tips too. This book comes highly recommended.

Richard Smith is a true hunter with excellent ethics. His book is great for the beginning hunter. However its is full of endorsements from the beginning.I gave this book to a friend to read before I would even hunt with him for the first time. Hats off to you Richard for allowing so many deer to pass you by and let them become future trophies. I only wish others people would enjoy the outdoors as much and not think of the sport as a chance to shoot at the first deer that comes by. I would be honored if I ever got the chance to hunt with you
