5.0 out of 5 stars Stand Out is a MOVEMENT...not just MUSIC!
Tye Tribbett & G.A. have definitely set a STANDard with this album. Before concentrating on the music - I was drawn to the message. Indeed we can all see the enemy is coming in like a flood, but where's the STANDard in our homes, churches, and our own lives? If Christ lives inside us, then "WE" are the ones who are to raise the STANDard with our lives. As Tye says,...

3.0 out of 5 stars Disappointed
This is not one Tye Tribbet's better efforts. His attempts to diversify his music, I think stretches him too far. This is a person, I believe, with "Prince" like talent. But sometimes, the world isn't ready for you. I think he needs to reel it in a little bit and give us smaller bits of his genius. I found only one or two songs on this CD that I liked and I only...

As Tye says, "no time for mixing light - with the darkness/Be black or be white - no more shades of grey/Be seperated be holy - No matter what you do don't bow/And even if you STAND alone - STAND anyhow"
WE REPRESENT THE KINGDOM OF GOD!!

I love Tye's new album, the first and title track is straight banging, and the lyrics cannot be sung without causing you to examine how much you really STAND out in your own life. Tye and G.A. hit on some of everything...Praise leaders listening to secular music, living together before marriage, secular ringtones on your phone, etc. My personal favorite issue is the mixing of secular music/artist with gospel. I'm sorry people - OUR culture/way of life is Holiness, and Hip-Hop is "THEIR" culture/way of life. When you blend Holiness and Hip-Hop you don't get Holy Hip-Hop, you get ADULTERY!! Praise God for Tye & G.A. even with all the new hype surrounding his music, he has remained true to the message and refused to comprimise!!

I really loved "I Need You", I heard him throw in "How Great Is Our God" at the end of it on YouTube and blended it perfectly...this is a great song. My other favorites include "Let Us Worship" and "So Amazing" which he blended together perfectly to cause it to sound like one song. I learned from a P&W mentor of mine that P&W should flow from song to song. We should never stop our worship to transition keys or songs. If worship is mindless it is meaningless, our songs should flow together in their theme and not just be chosen at random, they should engage the "minds" of the people consistently. Without a doubt though, I believe "I Made It Through" is the best song on this album - its vintage Tye & G.A., banging lyrics, and music that makes you wanna shout. Last of all, "Chasing After You" will help usher you right into His presence. This song will probably be slept on, but is one of the top songs on the album. True worshippers will adore hearing/singing this song.

My only concern and prayer is hoping that the message will not be missed due to the music on this album. IMO it is totally different than the last album. The music is SSOOOooo heavy on this album, musicians are gonna love it. I can't wait to see the DVD. In the middle tracks there is an OVERWHELMING abundance of uptempo churchy/party type songs until you get to "Chasing After You". I just hope that the abundance of "Sound Check" showing their skills does not cause people to lose the message of the STAND out movement. I am thoroughly enjoying this album...I would definitely recommend it to all Tye & G.A. supporters. STAND out isn't music...its a MOVEMENT!! I welcome your comments...

5.0 out of 5 stars HOT HOT HOT HOT HOT !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, May 7, 2008
This review is from: Stand Out (Audio CD)
This cd is off the chain. I didn't think he can top Victory Live but this brother gets better and better and better. This cd has a lil something for everyone. A little Roc, funk, jazz, hip hop, 1980's sounds and of course praise and worship. I like every song on the cd. If someone gives this cd a bad review, its because they dont think outside of the box. Tye does and shows it in his music. I can see Tye Tribbett and Hillsong doing a tour, uniting everyone together. Tye please dont stop doing what you are doing. We love your music. Hopefully we can vote 'Good in the Hood' and 'Look up' on BET or MTV.

5.0 out of 5 stars SADLY I MUST SAY...., May 17, 2008
This review is from: Stand Out (Audio CD)
With only three CD's under their belt, Sadly I must say Tye Tribbett & GA has SURPASSED KIRK FRANKLIN! This is strictly my own opinion, but Kirks relatively new album (which I previewed and did not purchase) is more secular than God Driven, I still support the man, but...anyway back to Tye! He incorporates The Word in almost every track on every CD! He has stayed consistent in the regard he & GA are breaking Norms. I must say this CD has differed from his previous albums but Victory is very different from his Title debut. His music truly glorifies God and takes himself out of the picture and the true focus is on Jesus and Our Heavenly Father!

With that said, This CD is riddled with fantastic beats, awesome blends of vocal talents, and a band that can move the crowd and still serenade the Heart of God!

MY FAVORITE TRACK IS *BLESS THE LORD (SON OF MAN)* THE BEST IN MY OPINION! Please disregard anyone that might trash this album (or even praise it for that matter) FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF!!!!!! BUT THIS ALBUM IS A MUST GET :)

4.0 out of 5 stars Simple, November 3, 2008
This review is from: Stand Out (Audio CD)
This project is a little more unique (out there) than the ones in the past. This may be a little extreme for some. However, I enjoyed the entire CD except for 2 songs (So Amazing and He Has Made Me Glad).

5.0 out of 5 stars Stand Out is sounds different, but the message is the same, October 22, 2008

Ever since I heard about Tye maybe 2 years ago, I haven't been able to listen to gospel music the same. His messages in his songs are clear, precise, and Biblically informed.

This album is much different sounding from his previous albums, so you might have to listen to it a few times to start feeling it. You will definitely 'feel' the first track, "Stand Out", where Tye literally calls Gods people to be seperate from the world in every way. It made me examine who I really am becoming.

Sure to be an instant favorite is "Son of Man," a clear call to worship Christ. I cannot stop listening to this song! Amazing...

"I Need You" is a powerful worship song as well...I mean Tye has done it again.

As for the sound, he uses ALOT of Rock and Roll influences (electric guitar, drums, melody-format), traditional Gospel sounds, Tye Tribbett gospel sounds (he has his own personal style, you just have to hear it)and yes, even Hip-Hop on the track "Good in the Hood" which is essentially focusing on the plight of African-Americans and essentially everyone living in poverty-stricken urban areas that are trying to make it through life the right way.

If you are looking for some inspiration and words that will get you through your day and motivate you to get closer to God, you will want this offering from Tye Tribbet and Greater Anointing...share it with friends and family. I can see many of the tracks on this album being sung during praise in worship in churches across the nation and globally.

I love this cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars This CD does STAND OUT in JESUS NAME!, October 20, 2008

I admit when I first purchased the CD, I wasn't feeling any of the songs except for Hallejuah. I then decided to give the CD another chance, since I'm a Die hard Tye fan! Well I must say, you have to think outside the box to enjoy this CD.Yes, its not like his other two CD's... and to me thats good. I would get tired of the same sounding CD's! Thats just me. Theres only a few songs on here I don't really care for, but I can pop the CD in and listen to it all day, every day! Just like one user said, he has a little bit of everything, funk, jazz, r&b, rock, etc. To my amazement I liked the song " So Amazing" that is essentially a rock-gospel song... and I can't stand rock. I think if you look pass the type of music and look at the message in the music... this CD will minister to you. Open your hearts and minds people- I did.

I will always be a fan of Tye & G.A
