This is a typical schlock Curb Records collection that trys to pass off re-recordings as the "best of". As such, this collection should be skipped by all but completists.

Most people will be looking at this collection for one song: "Into the Night". And the ORIGINAL version of that song is available on the CD "Never Run, Never Hide."

Benny Mardones is a talented fellow, and there's more to him than the one hit. But you should get the originals, not these lame remakes.

Stand By Your Man is another testament to the unending passion for love that Benny has. All songs on this CD deserve top hit rating. His voice brings the compassion and love he truely feels in his heart. If you are a Benny fan, you must buy this CD and let Benny take you "Into the Night" with the words and music that Only can be delievered properly by Benny himself

Benny has that "feel this from the depths of your soul" sound in all the songs on this album. Any one who can tell me they don't like " Baby Tonight" has a tin ear! You have got to give this one a try! I guarantee you will love it, no matter what your taste is in music! Sure hope I can see him in St. Louis some time! Keep up the good work, Benny!!!!!

Excellent!!! This album has it all. Slow and smokey blue with "Stand by Your Man" Harsh and tingling vocals in "Baby Tonight", "Run To You" is typical fantastic Benny, "Two Worlds Two Hearts" should be on the top 50 play list at the adult contemporary radio stations. A funky version of "Sheila C." is an interesting twist to a timeless rock ballad classic...and the rest is diverse and pleasant. Benny does'nt rock out on this album, but what he does in "Baby Tonight" and "Two Worlds Two Hearts" might better be considered follow ups to "Into The Night", because the passion and melody have arrived once again, this time with an enviable savoir-faire. Bravo!!

I was expecting the music that I used to listen to in New York around the middle 80's. I did'nt get what I expected. I didn't really like what he did to Sheila C. If anyone knows where Benny's oldies but goodies can be found I would appreciate the info.

I purchased the cd because I long awaited to hear the song "sheila c" which I hadn't heard in 17 years. Only to find that it had been re-mixed beyond recogniton. Benny Mardones WAS a very talented artist who for one reason or another failed to make it big outside the Syracuse NY area It's sad when artist think they have no other recourse then to remix what were once excellent songs. This particular cd is now used as a coaster on my coffee table.CALL ME WHEN THE ALBULM "TO MUCH TO LOSE" IS FINALLY RELEASED ON CD.

I Have loved all of Benny's stuff..and on this one he changes the tempo, but it is an album that Benny fans should own...The music is good and if some people want to falsely label him a "has been", instead of a rocker who is diversifying, then they are too shallow and ungrateful even for the awesome understanding, and rock and roll passion of "The Voice". Some people have seen him NUMEROUS times in concert over a span of 25 YEARS! Great for you, but if you cant see the maturing career of a legend and musical hero, then maybe you should stop asking "what have you done for ME lately", put down your copy of this album, and thank Benny for the 63 SHOWS. IT HAS BEEN AN AWESOMELY TRYING HAUL FOR THE ENTERTAINER...maybe you could show us all that aging doesn't occur in your body, that you can get up every day, and scream with the force of a lion, meawhile holding a note that makes opera singers question their own abilities. Oh and by the way...."Baby Tonight" and "Two Worlds, Two Hearts" are reasons enough to own this album. "The Voice" is still the voice...perhaps you should try "Kid Rock"..or "Hansen"....

When Benny floored the world with his smash hit, which need not even be mentioned because you are already humming it to yourself, his talent had far from run dry. "Stand By Your Man" is a continuation of the peace that Benny felt before the tragedies struck. His expressions are joyous and sincere, a plea of hope and despair that has constantly permeated his music. It's not likely that the radio stations will stay away long...."The Voice" is back! Pay serious attention to "Baby Tonight", and "Two Hearts, Two Worlds". If these two rock ballads dont make the little hairs on your neck stand up then check your pulse or stop listening to all that Marilyn Manson. One last gift to you from Benny is the "Angel" album, Have fun with this one, alone, with your mother, or with your lover, feel the magic of Benny Mardones. Those that long for the feel of "Into The Night" will come up short-handed. Every one of Benny's songs is a different shade of a different color, and to see the rainbow incomplete is an injustice to your musical spirit. Get busy, my only regret is that I waited until now to saturate myself with his sentiments, they are closer to home than I would have thought. Of course if you would rather wait for the DJ's to determine what you hear, you can do that also. However even those cool voices on the radio would be swayed by your interest....give them a call and ask them to let Benny take the whole world on more adventures...into the night, and beyond.....

This C.D. is a must for any true Benny fan, especially those who knew him during the Syracuse days of old. A valued edition to any collection!

what can i say , i saw benny in ithaca, ny at MAX'S when this was released, ive been watching him in concert(63 times) since the first time at longbranch park on onondaga lake (Syracuse,ny) in around 74-75, so grrrreat back then, now a has been,puuuulease release "NEVER RUN NEVER HIDE" "TOO MUCH TO LOSE" and his best - "AMERICAN DREAMS" with the HURRICANES on disc ASAP.....these will change the way you listen to "THE VOICE"....
