The product works as a place to record video from your security camera, just don't expect to be able to use those videos on any other device.
I installed a 500 GB hard drive to store all my videos on.
The manual states that you can export the videos to external hard drives and thumb drives, but nothing I have plugged is seen by the video application,
So I can not copy the files off of the unit to be used on another computer, or system for police to use as evidence.
I even removed the hard drive and tried connecting it to other computers to see if I could access the videos that way.
Neither Windows, or Mac can read the formatted drive.
So all my recorded security video can only be watched and reviewed on this box or the web browser!
This is bad since I can not give anyone a copy of the videos to be used for evidence.
This is the whole reason I bought this unit, for security footage.
Also I get tired of having to log in to different screens with the admin password, and the motion alarm system is quite annoying.
I turned off the motion alarms, but they don't stay deactivated.
Next time I will buy a name brand system that has support, with a phone number or email I can ask questions.
A waste of money and time.
