5.0 out of 5 stars This one has a little of everything
This is a really good CD with something for everyone. A little hip-hop/Carmen style starts it off with Who's in the House. Latter, you get some country with Holdin' On. The really fun one, I thought, one of the best contemporary Christian songs ever: Sunday School Rock. It's 50's style American Bandstand ala Carmen. Oh, and there are also some spiritually uplifting songs...

I've have been listening to carman since the mid 80's and this would have to be one of his best but, he i'm sure still has a few more left in him (by the grace of God!)

Just plain good upbeat music! Has lots of punchy power songs with soft music too. A good mix. Very good music. Try it and see for yourself.

5.0 out of 5 stars Carman sets "The Standard" for the Contemporary Christian!, July 6, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: The Standard (Audio CD)
This CD is a must have for your Christian contemporary collection. It features different music styles making this a must have. Containing music with a joyful beat such as "Now's the time" To marchin" and movin" which makes you want to grab your combat boots -- to the stirring of every patriotic heart with "America Again". From music with a caribbean beat to a classic 50's type or rock n roll and more mellow music with plenty of harmony this has it all. This is personally one of my favorites.

I bought this CD used and it came well packaged and in perfect condition. As a long time Carman fan and a widow living on nothing but SS I need to watch my spending and it is so great that Amazon offers previously owed CD's and book's. I don't have a TV so I read a lot and Amazon is my "go to" place.

The seller described the item very well but it being used the cd was in better condition than I had hoped it would be. I received the item in a timely manner. Wouldn't hesitate to order from this seller again.

Carman is an amazing songwriter, musician and has a magical voice. This particular album is good but has a lot of repeat songs that I have on other albums by him, such as "Heart of a Champion", "The Absolute Best" and "Passion for Praise" The seller I bought from was excellent in delivery, packaging and quality of CD

5.0 out of 5 stars How does he do it all. . .and do it so well??, September 2, 1998

Every cut on this disc hits me in a different place. "The River" is one I listen to when I'm feeling that I've hurt myself or someone I love with the selfish sin nature that dies hard. "America Again" reminds me of my responsibility to stay in there and work to make this country a better one for my three-year-old daughter--who, by the way, loves to boogie to "Sunday School Rock!" Like all Carman's work, this one is so anointed you can almost feel your hands burn when you pull it out of the box to play it. It's now five years old, but still cutting edge. Enjoy. . .

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME!, January 6, 2000
This review is from: The Standard (Audio CD)
The standard was awesome. Probably one of carman's best cd's yet. America Again was so awesome it touched my heart. The songs were very upbeat and outstanding. If you like the cd i recommend you getting the book that he wrote called "Raising the standard".You will enjoy both of these.
