Sometimes the worst jokes are the easiest to remember, and by building on that concept the Standard Deviants, a group of young actors, seek to provide a memorable review outline for a basic course in business law by turning legal concepts into comedy routines. The jokes and skits may often leave the viewer groaning, but at least they'll stick in your mind. This video focuses on four main areas of business law: the legal system, tort law, contract law, and product liability, as well as a bonus section on business-law vocabulary. And while those concepts don't seem to have much entertainment potential, the energetic cast does its best to act out the essential concepts with some help from flashy computer graphics that provide written reminders along the way. If the presentation is offbeat, the legal material is rock solid, with faculty from George Washington University providing technical expertise behind the scenes. This tape is intended solely to be a study aid, not a class in itself (and as befits the video's oddball delivery, there is even a disclaimer to that effect that is acted out on a barroom set). But someone who has already become familiar with business law in the classroom may find this a very good way to review, and remember, the basic concepts. --Robert J. McNamara
