This tape is a good learning tool for the freshman college level student who is interested in strenghening his or her basic understanding of English grammar. I am English instructor at a California State University and will use this tape for my developmental classes not as a stand-alone lesson but as reinforcement for grammatical concepts we will study in the class. Because this tape is fast-paced and fun, I think it is a good way to introduce or re-introduce students to some of the basic components of English grammar such as parts of speech, tense, number, etc. The fact that the tape uses multi-cultural students as spokespeople is nice too because it is representative of the student population at my school. This tape might also be good for high-school seniors who have already had a course in basic grammar. The only negative criticsm I have for this series is that it tends to move very quickly, but one can always rewind and replay sections that move too quickly.

When promised "the most fun ever- or your money back" I was geared up for some serious grammar fun. Sadly, I was disappointed. Yes, this is more fun than reading a grammar book by yourself, but so is scrubbing the grout in your bathroom. Alas, perhaps making grammar fun is an impossible task....
