5.0 out of 5 stars Indispensable Resource, July 5, 2006
This review is from: Standard Mathematical Tables (Hardcover)
This was a required book when I took calculus at the academy (my copy is 24th edition, copyright 1976). We were allowed to use it as a resource during tests and it is a wonderful resource for that. It includes numerous tables - logarithmic, trigonometric, statistical and financial. It also includes sections on trigonometric functions and relations, calculus differential and integral forms, series expansion forms, analytic geometry, algebra forms and relations, and more.

Many professors stress memorization of various formulae, as if you will remember them after the class is over. Reality is that knowing where to find a formula and understanding how to use it is far more important, and toward that end this book is essential. I do not remember many of the trig and calculus formulae I learned decades ago, however, I find myself using this book even 30 years later, knowing where to look and understanding what I read in it, and that is true knowledge and its application. P-)
