1.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Book- Just Don't Expect Much Accuracy
I learned so much about so many things from this book. It really helped me in my Chemistry class too. It turns out that it explains the Second Law of Thermodynamics on page 97: "The second law of thermodynamics states: For every action in the universe, there is an equal and opposite reaction. This concept applies equally to wildlife damage control."...

1.0 out of 5 stars Amazing Book- Just Don't Expect Much Accuracy, February 13, 2011
This review is from: Standard Pesticide User's Guide, The (7th Edition) (Hardcover)
I learned so much about so many things from this book. It really helped me in my Chemistry class too. It turns out that it explains the Second Law of Thermodynamics on page 97: "The second law of thermodynamics states: For every action in the universe, there is an equal and opposite reaction. Absolutely brilliant... If that actually had anything at all to do with the second law of thermodynamics, which has more to do with chemical equilibrium in a closed system. To be completely honest, reading this book was incredibly entertaining. All of the mistakes and inaccuracies make for a wonderful scavenger hunt. Perhaps for the 8th edition, Dr. Bohmont could hire a competent editor. Dr. Bohmont might also want to team up with some experts in fields such as entomology to proof-read the text, even an amateur entomologist can find quite a few slight- though somewhat distracting- mistakes.

The book is very useful in looking up general pesticide information as well indepth information on fumigations. The books format and print is very legable and easy to understand. The topic for each and every chapter are clearly spelled out and guild you to the proper sections in the book.I realize the labels that are in the book constantly change and are hard to keep current but I see the author tries their best to keep it current. The cost of the book seems quite high for organisations to purchase new copies every few years.
