I think that in this day and age there are simply not enough bands like this around. These guys rock hard. There is no one that can hear them play and not get into it. Even if they are not familiar with their style of music. The Elvis medleys and the Johnny Cash rock hard. I have never heard a fiddle player and good as Turi and as a whole the band is always on top of their game. Their sound is remerkable and refreshing and I have heard they make Flogging Molly sound like a bunch of Nancy Boys!!

The Blaggards manage to make even some of the sillier songs from the trad canon, such as Drunken Sailor & Big Strong Man, sound cool. Any band that can pull off singing 'The Fields of Athenry' to the music of 'Folsom Prison Blues' has it together. When they bust into a reggae groove in the middle of covering Elvis' 'Suspicious Minds' you wonder how far the tongue is in the cheek, but you can't argue with the singers Long John Silver voice and the flat out rockin' that goes on. The fiddlin' isn't half bad either. You can get this from CD Baby.

I found these guys by accident and fell in love with this album. The singer is very dynamic and they have some of the most original covers I've heard in a long time.

These guys are extraordinary! I saw them live for the first time and couldn't believe how much fun I had. If you like johnny cash, elvis, irish music or just a good time, these guys are it! Just wish they had more music out there on cd....

This band is straight-up kickass:

- Awesome Retro Covers - Check!
- Dynamic singer and band - Check!
- Unique take on traditional Irish tunes - Check!

If after listening to of a few of the Blaggards songs you don't crack at least a smile and tap a toe or two, you might want to get yourself down to the clinic for a checkup...

I was looking around Amazon for "Drunken Sailor" that I could sing along with my three year old little boy when I found this great album. Instead of buying just the one song I bought the whole album.

I'm no fan of the Dropkick Murphys, way too punk for me, and I'm OK with Flogging Molly. But these guys rock.
