5.0 out of 5 stars If you are a parent of a little boy then you will love this!
While the statue may not be familiar here in the US, anyone who is the parent of a little boy will laugh out loud at this book. Little boys just want to be like their dads and this book shows the hillarious things that happen when a little boy tries to pee standing up. Although his aim does get better with practice, the recipients of his misses may not appreciate it. I...

2.0 out of 5 stars Proceed with caution...
While the intent of this book (amusingly showing young boys how you stand to pee) is great, the author goes a little too far in being 'funny' about it. It's almost irresponsible, thinking about how impressionable toddlers & pre-schoolers are. I had to alter the book in order to be able to show it to my child. I felt I had to take time out of my busy Christmas eve - eve to give more credit to this seriously undervalued book! This book has been the only one I could find that would be blunt enough to show my son that other boys stand up and he could stare with no problem. Having no other men in the family life at the moment, this book was a life-saver.... highly recommend also for kids who are prudent or too shy or just don't "know how" to stand up!!!!!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!

While the intent of this book (amusingly showing young boys how you stand to pee) is great, the author goes a little too far in being 'funny' about it. It's almost irresponsible, thinking about how impressionable toddlers & pre-schoolers are. I had to alter the book in order to be able to show it to my child. I bought it when he was 3 & it took me a year to figure out what to do with it. The page where it shows the boy peeing on his mom in a bathtub, I ripped out completely along several other objectionable pages that frankly go too far. The page where he was peeing on the snail, I was able to cut out a piece of grass from a ripped out page & pasted over it. Also, my son doesn't have a sister. I change that to "mommy" when I read it. Even with a few less pages, it's now appropriate to show my 4 year old, and he loves the book. I also now feel very secure knowing my boy won't be peeing on the neighbors dog on purpose because he saw the little boy in this book doing somthing similar.

I found this book totally offensive. Not only was I subjected to a little boy holding his [...] on every page of the book (in a masturbatory manner), but I found it derogatory to women. Urinating on women might be acceptable in some sexual circles, but is it really something we need to expose kids to at 3, 4 or 5 years of age? This book does not teach respect towards other beings. Nor does it give a guideline for propriety. I am sure the attempt of the authors was to laugh at a rite of passage, but they stepped the line of what is appropriate. I have been a toy designer and illustrator for almost 20 years and have always been careful to think of the repercussions of any product I design. The lack of responsibility that these authors show in this regard is totally unprofessional. This is the first book I have ever taken away from my kids in the many years I have been a parent. Shame on the female authors for creating a book that perpetuates and pardons boys from being even slightly accountable for their actions.
