frankly, i have never taken the time to write a review on amazon. after my first listen, vox vermillion shakes my very foundation. it's been years since i have been this startled by a first listen, and i highly suggest you give them a chance.

I bought this cd for only one of the songs that I loved so much - Macbeth, great song!!! The rest of the songs are good too, but I found for myself that I need to be in the right frame of mind to really appreciate the songs. The majority of the songs have bitterness behind them, you can tell the artist is trying to convey something through her subtle anger. I like the cd, but if you don't like screechy angry women this may not be for you. If you like girl bands that are punk rock than definately check this band out!

I first heard about this band from the Soundtrack Album "Walk Like A Man" by Murs, and honestly, it kind of made me say "what the f@*k?"

I say that because the album was strictly underground hip hop and then there is an airy, somewhat bjork-like track and I thought, well, I like the track, I should check out the album.

So I bought it and have listened to it twice already. It's got a nice "background" feel to it, and again, I started listening and the first thought was "what the f@*k?", this time based on "how did I never hear of this band before?"

The album is really good. It doesn't really take any form from any other bands, it's not really hard, but it's got a bit of a dark, heavy sound to it, though it's melodic and sweet at times.

Another thing that confused me initially about this band is their ties to Slug and Murs of hip hop fame, but that is easily answered. Vox Vermillion is signed to their label, Women Records.
