Fabulous!,

This review is from: The Stanislaski Brothers (Two Complete Novels: Mikhail and Alex) (Mass Market Paperback)
The Stanislaski (what a mouthful!) Brothers by Nora Roberts is a wonderful book! I enjoyed every minute of it. In the book, there are two complete stories. One, titled as LURING A LADY is based on Mikhail Stanislaski, and the other, CONVINCING ALEX is based on Alex Stanislaski, who is two years younger than Mikhail. Both brothers are complete opposites, Mikhail being hot-tempered whereas Alex is an all-around ladies' man. ;) In LURING A LADY, Mikhail meets his soul mate when he encounters Sydney Hayward, newly president of Hayward enterprises and owner of a condominium he lives in. Sydney's grandfather recently passed away, and the company business was given to her. However lots of problems arises within the building (electrical and hydro problems) that Sydney isn't aware of, and Mikhail confronts her in her office. Sparks fly between the two, and soon the two find themselves attracted to each other. But something with Sydney's past will not allow her to have a future with Mikhail even though she does end up loving him. Read the book and find out what happens~ Just for your information: Mikhail is a carpenter and a famous artist that makes sculptures out of wood. It's very romantic. In CONVINCING ALEX, Detective Alex is working hard on a new case where two young girls were murdered. He decides to make a visit to the part of town where he was told that one of the prostitutes knew the two girls, and was to question her. He comes across a hot "blonde" and after a few questions he arrests her. But imagine his surprise when the hot "blonde" is actually a redhead and not a prostitute but a soap-opera writer. She's Bess McNee, a bubbly and funny girl who claims to need to feel what it is like to be a character so she can write it better. Soon she puts herself up to some danger, and Alex is there to protect her. But he can't seem to fight the attraction he feels for her, and soons end up falling in love with her. Bess, as well falls in love with Alex, but she's already had three engagements before that fell apart, and it's difficult for her to convince Alex that this time around is true love. So there begins the problem, and Bess must make Alex trust in her. The Stanislaski Brothers is full of humor, love and kindness. Nora Roberts is fabulous at making the reader fall in love with The Stanislaski family, they are all great people and fun to read about. I can't wait to get my hands on The Stanislaski Sisters. Enjoy!

This review is from: The Stanislaski Brothers (Two Complete Novels: Mikhail and Alex) (Mass Market Paperback)
The Stanislaski Brothers is a book of 2 complete stories; one about Mikhail Stanislaski (Luring a Lady) and the other about Alexi Stanislaski (Convincing Alex). I have to admit I liked Mikhail a little better than Alexi. Something about his story held me more and I felt it more compelling, a little more romantic. That is not to say that I did not enjoy Alexi as well, his is a great story. Both are great romance stories, every woman's fantasy! Mikhail and Alexi are both fabulous leading men, very different people but each sensitive, caring and loving in their own way. I really like it when Nora Roberts writes about families you can feel as if you are a part of them and get to know everyone - I just love this family, wish I could have met them! I can't wait to read The Stanislaski Sisters!

I am in love with the Stanislaski Brothers. What a wonderful, heartwarming and loving family, the rich characters of Yuri and Nadia, the heart of this remarkable family, their sons Mikhail and Alexi, daughters Rachael and Natasha are memorizing. Mikhail and Stacey, Alexi and Bess love stories are every woman's fantasy. The story is so full of emotion and romance that you will not be able to put it down. Another Nora Roberts winner.

my review,
This review is from: The Stanislaski Brothers (Two Complete Novels: Mikhail and Alex) (Mass Market Paperback)
Tha Stanislaski family has escaped from the Ukraine and arrived safely in New York City, where they begin a new life.Fast forward about thirty years and there is Mikhail Stanislaski and his brother, Alex. One is an artist and the younger one is a policeman. Both suddenly encounter two women who will change their lifes. As usual, Nora Roberts makes us forget the grind of daily life and transports us to a wonderful world of romance. I have always enjoyed her novels for the way they make me feel. Her characters are always perfect and very lively. Good read for any time you need a "refresh"!

The Stanislaski Clan - What an interesting family,
This review is from: The Stanislaski Brothers (Two Complete Novels: Mikhail and Alex) (Mass Market Paperback)
Nora creates another wonderful family, and you just can't wait to read their stories. The boys are hot headed, gorgeous, and close to their family. Their mates are compassionate, bright, classy, and attractive, but don't have family relationships. Contrary to most older Silhoutte romances, the girls are not virgins when they meet the guys which makes the stories so much more believable. Although the books are reprints, they stand the test of time. I really liked both Mik's and Alexi's stories They contain lots of humour and lots of romance and are fun to read. Mik and Sydney's story takes place a few years before that of Alexi and Bess, so you get to peek at the relationships over a few years as the family grows. Can't wait to read Rachel's and Natasha's stories. Enjoy!

Hey everyone, I love Nora Roberts books,I am a huge fan. Now Both the Stanislaski Brothers and Stanislaski Sisters are great books. But what you should know before you read either one is before you ruin the plots and stories for yourself. Read Taming Natasha-Stanislaski Sisters first then read Luring a Lady-Stanislaski Brothers its about Mikhail then read Falling for Rachel-Stanislaski Sisters then finally read Convincing Alex-Stanislaski Brothers. If you read the entire sister book then the brother book or in reverse you will ruin some key points. It should be in the order i gave above.

ANOTHER FUN READ FROM NORA!,
By A Customer
This review is from: The Stanislaski Brothers (Two Complete Novels: Mikhail and Alex) (Mass Market Paperback)
I'm glad to see Ms. Robert's older books being re-released. The "Stanislasky" series is a good example of well written, fun, romance genre at its very best. As in all her books, the characters are well drawn, the story lines credible and interesting, and her dialogue fun and often surprising. How she manages to make her "formula" work over and over again is her genious. For exhausted women everywhere who want a little harmless excitment in their lives, we tip our mascara wands in salute to Nora Roberts.

This review is from: The Stanislaski Brothers (Two Complete Novels: Mikhail and Alex) (Mass Market Paperback)
I enjoy Nora Roberts books. The Stanislaski Brothers has two novels in one book. The first story involves Mikhail and his romance with Sydney. An unlikely duo at first glance, Sydney is a polished, sheltered, high society woman who becomes president of her grandfather's company upon his death. Mikhail was raised in the Ukraine until his family fought their way to the United States. Sydney mistakes him for a carpenter and hires him to make improvements on a building owned by her company and where Mikhail lives. She discovers he is not a simple carpenter but a complex man of many talents. Mikhail vows to win Sydney's heart. The second story revolves around Mikhail's younger brother, Alex, a tough street cop who arrests Bess McNee for soliciting, only to discover she is a soap opera writer doing "research". They fight to solve the murders of several prostitutes while falling in love. Bess has a history of "collecting" fiances, will Alex simply be added to that group, or will he believe in her declarations of love? Both stories were a delight. I recommend them highly! Enjoy...

This review is from: The Stanislaski Brothers (Two Complete Novels: Mikhail and Alex) (Mass Market Paperback)
Sydney Hayward's new office, ten stories up in midtown Manhattan, is a world away from her Soho apartments and her tenant's complaints. But when Mikhail Stanislaski trails dirt across her white carpet and reminds her of her grandfather's promises, the two worlds collide. A woman who's spent most of her life traveling and buying clothes is ill prepared for the business world. But Sydney's determined to learn, to make something of what she's inherited. When becomes aware of their terrible condition, she takes over the Soho apartment renovations personally. Mikhail's exotic looks and hot eyes made quite an impression on Sydney. His rudeness and impatience was easily explained by the fact that his many letters had gone ignored. Sydney's ice and pride have met their direct opposite in Mikhail. His gypsy heritage and hot-blooded, hot-tempered nature don't much tolerate ice and aristocracy. She can't help melting in his radiant heat. But then, no woman can dislike a carpenter that repairs stairwells for the good of children and old ladies without reimbursement. When Sydney's mother recognizes Mikhail from the cover of Art/World, the playing field is even. Mikhail lives in Soho from choice, and accepts the work he wants, again, by choice. The master craftsman/artist agrees to do the renovations in his apartment building because he wants to. As his patience seduces his tolerance, passions ignite, resulting in an intense love story too good to miss. Alex looses an arm wrestling contest over Sydney to his brother, so despite his outrageous flirtation, he fails to steal Sydney away. Rather than stealing his brother's girl, he'll just have to find one of his own. Or she will have to find him...which is exactly what Bess McNee does, when she stands with the "working girls" on a New York street corner. Arresting her for prostitution, Alex Stanislaski doesn't quite know what to make of the woman with the creative flair and innocent green eyes. Bess' admittance to solicitation as a form of research, she's a daytime soap opera writer, doesn't prevent Alex from putting her in jail. When Bess returns to the station to ask Alex to let her "use him" he's not quite sure what to think. While her words indicate a bit of illicit fun, Bess really is asking him to help her research into the life of a police officer to make her writing better -- an informal technical advisor. But her sexy eyes and word choices keep Alex off kilter and guessing, and the reader laughing. Indeed, Bess' breathless energy and sizzling passion makes her enduring and appealing, especially contrasted to Alex's more staid approach to life. In Nora Robert's words, "good fiction creates its own reality." And she proves it. The Stanisloski family presents the opportunity for the reader to become a part of a boisterous, loving family. Just as Mikhail expresses himself in wood, bringing the beauty of his emotions to his creations, so does the family allow the reader to participate emotionally in the kind of family that most of us only dream about. The warmth, humor and love come alive in Roberts' pen, allowing fantasy to become reality, if only for the hours we participate in her world. And with this delightful double novel, the reader gets to linger twice as long! Very highly recommended.

Heart warming,
This review is from: The Stanislaski Brothers (Two Complete Novels: Mikhail and Alex) (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a wonderful book. Another great series from Nora Roberts. One word of advise....you have to read Taming Natasha then switch to Luring a Lady and Convincing Alex then read Falling for Rachel to get the stories in order. Afterward, there are 2 more books related to these...Waiting for Nick (Rachel's brother-in-law) and Considering Kate (Natasha's daughter. Reflections and Dreams (Dance of Dreams in particular) is yet another related book with Nickolai Davidov from Considering Kate. Dance to the Piper as well as the O'Hurley's books connect through as well. This is quite a confusing but fun set of books.
