This review is from: Stanley 10-065 6-Inch Plastic Retractable Utility Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
You can easily spend 5, 6, or 7 times what this knife costs on a utility knife, but why? This little beauty uses the same blades but is lighter, easier to change blades, and easier to retract and expose the blade than any of the $10 utility knives. They call it "light duty" because it is plastic and the expensive ones are "heavy duty" or "professional" because they are made of metal. That is a lot of marketing mumbo jumbo. I have been using utility knives like this for forty years and the only thing this knife will not do is remain intact after being run over by a truck. Save your money. Buy this knife. (Unless you need one you can run over with a truck).

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Alternative !!, November 27, 2011
This review is from: Stanley 10-065 6-Inch Plastic Retractable Utility Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
I've been using these knives several years now and there great . Stanley sent one of these to me in the mail years ago when they were first promoting them . I laughed when I saw what it was . What carpenter would want a plastic utility knife ? I cussed at it and would of thrown it away had the junk drawer not been closer then the garbage can . But I ended up using that plastic knife alot around the house rather than go out to the truck to get a ( real utility knife ) . Over time I noticed a few things about that stupid plastic utility knife . Because it didn't weigh very much it stayed put when I layed it down on a slope and I didn't even know it was in my pocket until I needed it . It cut just as good as any other knife , the blade opened and closed easily , it stays locked in place and it was super easy to change blades in it . I finally started taking it to work with me and have since given away my { real utility knives )in favor of these . And they do hold up really well to everyday use . Granted you can't use these as chisels in combo with your hammer but you shouldn't be doing that anyways . Just make sure to get this one because there are some out there that have a plastic blade holder and they are no good at all .

5.0 out of 5 stars Light weight stanley knife, August 6, 2011
This review is from: Stanley 10-065 6-Inch Plastic Retractable Utility Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
A light weight knife you can carry around in your back pocket without wearing a hole in your your pocket. I have broken a few trying to cut some heavy material, but after all it is plastic. For general cutting It's perfect. I carry around one all the time and use it constantly.
