Customer Reviews

Feels flimsy but works.

Maybe they beefed up the weak area on top since I broke my saw, but I doubt it.
Tinkerer
This is very good for a portable toolbox or camping gear.

I've gone through a lot of folding saws, and this one is the best. It takes regular recip. blades that you can buy anywhere (or probably already have), and has a handy storage compartment in the handle that can store at least 3 extra blades. It folds up so it doesn't take much room in your toolcase, and doesn't accidentally cut you or your other equipment (like every drywall saw on the market does). I keep a drywall blade, wood blade and metal blade in here, and it's handy for virtually any situation. For serious or volume cutting, you still can't beat a conventional saw, but for work in tight spaces, drywall cutting or the occassional cut when you just need a quick saw, this is a great addition to any toolbox. Very convenient.

I got this to use on the toilet tank bolts between the tank & lower bowl
for when I need to change the seal & bolts. I like the way I can use reciprocating blades or jig saw blades! I just wish it had a rubber grip handle instead of plastic. It's made in the USA too!

This saw cuts well from the factory.
It can use any standard sawzall blade
and has room in the handle for 3 different blades.

I use a lot of styrofoam for packing boxes. This is a very handy saw to cut foam to custom fit my packing. It does leave behind fine foam chips but it is unavoidable.

Best saw I ever owned! It really is. It is always handy and I use it often. I have been looking all over for another one but was unable to find one until now. Thank goodness for Amazon, I have been able to find so many thing here that I no longer want to go looking around at the stores.

I've had this for about 10 years and have used it about a dozen times. I just used it in a crawl space to cut some PVC pipe because I didn't have enough room for anything larger. Even though it's an 8-inch saw it will not accept a blade larger than 6" (and still close) and with a blade that size the actual cutting area is about 5". That gives you an overall length of about 13" and a lot of that is handle so that's a lot of short strokes to cut something. There's also not much leverage you can apply so cutting something solid like metal is tough. If you have a dull blade you'll likely break the saw where the pivot point is because it's not very strong. I do like it because I don't have to buy special blades and I much prefer power saws or larger hand saws that accommodate longer blades. I'm going with 4 stars because the handle could use some grip notches but primarily because you need a screwdriver to change a blade and that's an issue for me. If you're looking for a saw to throw in a backpack or drop in a tool bag that won't punch holes in it then this is likely a 5 star tool for you.

I wouldn't use it to cut a couple of cords of wood for winter usage, but up on a ladder and there is a nail sticking out and I really don't feel like climbing down the ladder, going to the garage, getting the zip saw and the extension cord, climbing back up the ladder etc., etc., etc., This saw is perfect for that scenario. It is also useful working when trimming bushes and trees. Can't quite cut it with the clippers, whip out the saw with a large-tooth blade and have at it. It's the perfect pocket companion for those times when just a little sawing will save a lot of time. No, it's not the tool when you know you are going to be doing a lot of heavy-duty sawing.

Great little hand saw. Easy to use in a pinch or tight space when a power tool isn't an option. I chose this one over the others because storing optional blades in the handle is pretty terrific.
