A disappointment in every respect. Michael Hardt  |  3 reviewers made a similar statement
I ended up buying a better Craftsman miter saw, and only wish I'd done so sooner. Dan Crevier  |  3 reviewers made a similar statement
The plastic body of the mitre box is quite mediocre and flimsy. A. J. Minhas  |  3 reviewers made a similar statement

2.0 out of 5 stars Very frustrating to use January 14, 2001
I bought one of these when I installed Pergo in my house to do the trim. It was very frustrating to use. First off, it's very hard to use if you are just placing it on the ground. Although it's hard to tell from the picture, it's got an L shaped base that's meant to mount on a bench. If you use it on the floor, the cutting surface is at an angle. Also, I found I frequently ended up cutting into the plastic of the box. The wallbase I was using was too tall to fit in the box upright, so I had to do the 45 degree cuts using face cuts. The saw would really squeek on these cuts. I ended up buying a better Craftsman miter saw, and only wish I'd done so sooner.

This miter box might be alright if you just have to do a few cuts and want to save money, but if you have to do any significant amount of money, save yourself the frustration and spend your money on something better.

1.0 out of 5 stars Almost completely useless October 22, 2004
Too small to use for tall baseboard or crown molding. The plastic bends during sawing and the saw cuts into the plastic. The saw is so short that you can only move it back and forth about 2 cm, so each cut takes forever to make. This is a total piece of trash, and will just cause you to go out and spend more money on something that actually works.

1.0 out of 5 stars plastic junk October 19, 2000
By A Customer
Pins would not even hold 1/4" thick Baseboard trimm. Plastic sides move when you are sawing. Went and bought wood box. The Saw is a good hand saw.

4.0 out of 5 stars Perfectly wonderful -- to do what it was made for.
I use this box all the time -- to cut pvc pipe, 1x2, 2x2, dowels, trim. I take it into the yard to cut 1/2" irrigation pipe. I put it on the kitchen table to cut small pieces. Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars What is the big deal?
I apparently am more mechanically inclined than the average DIYer? It is a basic miter saw and box?? Sure it is plastic, but so is just about everything these days. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy, poorly designed miter box
The saw that the miter box comes with is a decent handsaw, but the miter box itself is useless. The edges of the box bend when you are sawing. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars Junk...
It is cheap, not worth any kind of money. Plastic sides are flimsy and bind the blade. Get a wood or heavy duty metal box...

5.0 out of 5 stars Easy crown molding
Easy crown molding - the saw is sharp and easy to use. All those modern synthetic materials used for molding these days - takes about 20 seconds to make a cut. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Good saw, but the rest is a cheap plastic
The saw is good, but the rest is simply very light plastic, my son thought that it is a toy for him. It is good for a low duty small home project

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent Option If You Don't Have a Power Saw
If you're like me and don't own a table saw, a chop saw, or even a circular saw, then this combo is a good way to make clean, square cuts. Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars It's just ok.
Well I used it to cut a few things that were small because I didn't want my fingers anywhere near my power Miter saw. I cut them and the accuracy was reasonable for the price. Read more
