The most important part of any project is getting the measurements right. This is the most accurate tape rule I have ever found. Both inside and outside measurements. After almost 20 years of continual use I have to buy another due to a small tear at 5". This is simply the best tape rule you can buy.

You have to have a tape measure for do-it-yourself projects. I have three tape measures myself, including a Stanley. The belt clip is very handy, particularly when you are carrying lumber or are going up or down a ladder. The mylar coated blade helps keep the tape from rusting. A heat treated spring is a must for long life of any tape measure. I like the tape lock on this tape measure too. A tape measure I have from another company tends to allow the tape to move.

Stanley has become a well-known brand with quality products. I own several Stanley tools, including this tape measure. I recommend this one highly.

I keep one in my truck and one in my shop. I use my tapes dozens, sometimes hundreds of times a day. My current ones are over 10 years old. I have tried other brands and configurations and find them to be poorly designed. This is the best.

I have been using Stanley products for years. Very dependable,long lasting and very useful around the house. I would never use anything but Stanley!

I am no handyman so I do not know what all can be expected of an item of this nature---but I have not as yet found anything that it doesn't do supremely well. This is a great relief to my wife also because it is easy to work with, yet maintains enough rigidity that I can take a number of measurements by myself rather than call for help.

I've had several different tapes through the years, have now used this tape daily for fulltime construction work for over a year, works just as well as the day I bought it!

I had used one of these tapes for quite a few years, and was very satisfied. But recently, when I was extending it fully to measure a deck, "sproing!" the tape fell off, and when I took it apart, it seemed the spring had failed as well.

So I went out and bought another one, thinking the first had just exceeded its lifetime. The second time I used the new one, fully extending it, the tape fell off. Taking this one apart, it looks as though the metal piece that is supposed to lock with the tape end had broken off, although the spring still appears to be functional. Other reviewers report similar problems. So now I don't know whether to try again with this tape or try another brand.

This is the epitome of a construction tape. Solid case, sturdy tape, fast recoil. As a laborer in the brick construction industry, this is a very popular tape measure. It is not fancy, but why would anyone need a fancy tape. It is a solid, good priced tape and it makes me wonder why anyone would buy another more expensive, plastic-cased tape. The buck stops here - the Stanley tape is all anyone needs.

I purchased 4 of these and all of them where identical and of excelent quality. Without WARNING One of the tape measures starting spinning at a high rate of speed then flew off into outer space. (In my opinion: Buying an extra tape just see it fly off is worth the risk of wasting some money on an extra ordinary tape) The 3 tape measures work fine I will review the last one if it ever flys home.

Nice tape measure, but buyer beware: the case is now made of chromed plastic, not metal. Still a great tape, but lacks the solid feel the Stanley tapes used to have.
