Product Description

Amazon.com Product Review

As with other LED flashlights, your batteries will last longer in the 369, and the bulbs will give you years of operation before burning out. And LED bulbs are almost indestructible: you'd have to hit them with a hammer in order to break them--and you'd have to get through the shatter-proof polycarbonate lens first. In other words, you can depend on this flashlight to work when you need it.

The 369 is designed to be used with three, six, or nine batteries, depending on your needs. If you wanted to have a flashlight for emergency illumination, for example, you'd use all nine batteries; if you wanted a lightweight flashlight for work, you'd use three. For extra reliability, the 369 has a built-in warning light that lets you know when your batteries are running low.

Like other LED flashlights, this one gives you a much "cleaner" bright spot than conventional incandescent models. Even so, it seems like the light should be brighter, especially considering that you're using up to nine batteries. The light is bright enough to work in most circumstances, however, and the sturdy construction and reliability more than offset this minor complaint.--Josh Dettweiler

5.0 out of 5 stars Neat Design/Concept (get the tripod version), September 3, 2006
This review is from: Stanley 369 6-LED Flashlight #95-369 (Tools & Home Improvement)
According to other reviewer this is not the tripod version. You need that one MaxLife 369 Tripod by Stanley. It looks like a funky torch, but on pressing a button the body becomes a tripod. Which means when trying to change a car wheel, or look into a PC box, you just site it down. Great piece of innovation.

Also some other nice design features, apart from the aesthetics:

1) Each of the three legs can be filled with (3) AA batteries. You only need to fill one leg but each additional leg gives you more run time - nice if you want to save weight or go for mega run time instead.

2) You can change the number of LEDs that are lit simply by repeatidly pressing a button.

I got mine for 29 Euros and already plan that each family (male) member gets one for Christmas.

5.0 out of 5 stars Bright, long lasting, but a tad flimsy, February 25, 2006

This review is from: Stanley 369 6-LED Flashlight #95-369 (Tools & Home Improvement)
I like the 369 because it gives a very clean bright spot of light and I know I can count on it in emergency situations because the batteries last so long. I'm using regular Energizer alkaline batteries and for the two-three months I've used it I haven't needed to change the batteries.

You can use the light as a normal hand held light, or mount it on its built in tripod. This is especially handy when you need to do work in dark places with both hands.

Compared to Mag lites, the quality of the beam is much better, but light is not as heavy duty. For example, I wouldn't recommend this light to a police officer who might need to use the flash light as an improvised baton.

No instructions? Oh No! Might as well through it away. The secrets to unlocking the flashlights usefullness is lost forever. lol.

This will be my 2nd 369, since someone had stolen mine at a job I was doing. Those damn punks! lol. Despite the lack of instructions, after a minute of playing with it, you will notice that the only place for batteries is along the legs. Of course, you will have to found out how to twist off those tricky end caps :P Once opened, if you look around the inside of the legs, if you notice a small diagram of on to insert the batteries, if you need it. Theres only some many ways for inserting batteries, now ;)

It's a pretty bright LED, even with all 6 on, but I feel like it could be brighter. The tripod function is great and freed up on hands for crimping 24 guage wires in the dark. The use of AA batteries is another great bonus. Using 9 Energizer 2500mAh AA rechargebles, the 369 last well over 3 months before the red low battery indictator started blinking. It may be brighter even if you use regular akaline batteries.

This flashlight met most of my criteria. I was looking for something that I could recharge, based on LEDs, and pretty bright. Im quite content with it, and just got my 2nd one today.
