Neat Design/Concept (get the tripod version),

According to other reviewer this is not the tripod version. You need that one MaxLife 369 Tripod by Stanley. It looks like a funky torch, but on pressing a button the body becomes a tripod. Which means when trying to change a car wheel, or look into a PC box, you just site it down. Great piece of innovation.
Also some other nice design features, apart from the aesthetics: 1) Each of the three legs can be filled with (3) AA batteries. You only need to fill one leg but each additional leg gives you more run time - nice if you want to save weight or go for mega run time instead. 2) You can change the number of LEDs that are lit simply by repeatidly pressing a button. I got mine for 29 Euros and already plan that each family (male) member gets one for Christmas.

Bright, long lasting, but a tad flimsy,

I like the 369 because it gives a very clean bright spot of light and I know I can count on it in emergency situations because the batteries last so long. I'm using regular Energizer alkaline batteries and for the two-three months I've used it I haven't needed to change the batteries.
You can use the light as a normal hand held light, or mount it on its built in tripod. This is especially handy when you need to do work in dark places with both hands. Compared to Mag lites, the quality of the beam is much better, but light is not as heavy duty. For example, I wouldn't recommend this light to a police officer who might need to use the flash light as an improvised baton.

No instructions? Oh No! Might as well through it away. The secrets to unlocking the flashlights usefullness is lost forever. lol.
This will be my 2nd 369, since someone had stolen mine at a job I was doing. Those damn punks! lol. Despite the lack of instructions, after a minute of playing with it, you will notice that the only place for batteries is along the legs. Of course, you will have to found out how to twist off those tricky end caps :P Once opened, if you look around the inside of the legs, if you notice a small diagram of on to insert the batteries, if you need it. Theres only some many ways for inserting batteries, now ;) It's a pretty bright LED, even with all 6 on, but I feel like it could be brighter. The tripod function is great and freed up on hands for crimping 24 guage wires in the dark. The use of AA batteries is another great bonus. Using 9 Energizer 2500mAh AA rechargebles, the 369 last well over 3 months before the red low battery indictator started blinking. It may be brighter even if you use regular akaline batteries. This flashlight met most of my criteria. I was looking for something that I could recharge, based on LEDs, and pretty bright. Im quite content with it, and just got my 2nd one today.

I bought this flashlight about a year ago and was reasonably happy with it. Then two of the led lights stopped working and the four-position toggle switch started working erratically. Whenever I buy a quality flashlight I expect it to last pretty much forever. The Stanley let me down bigtime. A much better flashlight (although more expensive) is the Smith & Wesson Galaxy 13 LED Flashlight or probably any other in the Smith & Wesson line.

This is one of those flashlights that you put in your garage for "just in case" purposes. The battery life last so long I never had to worry about not having light when needed. When ever I work on my car, or just need to check something under the hood, I just grab this flashlight and I gets the job done. Reliable is all I have to say.
Only issue is I found the three brightness function very pointless. Why would I need less bright when I can have the brightest? If battery life is not even a concern (9 AA batteries!). It is very annoying to have to keep pushing the buttons. All I need is one setting: The brightest setting.

This flashlight is made to look like the tripod flashlight but isn't. It is simply a ridgid flashlight and as such is way over priced. This should be disclosed in the ad.

Love the 3 stage of brightness. It does take a lot of batteries but if they last like all other LED powered products than It will be worth it. Highest setting is very bright. Sufficient for whatever you need to light up. Great product.

Very nice flashlight. We bought two so we cound have one upstairs and down if the power went down. With the LED the baterry life should be great.

This version with the tripod legs is the ultimate light tool. I gave one to every man I know (and some ladies). They were a real hit as Christmas presents at work, everyone was remarking how useful they were well past the Holiday season. Well designed, efficient, practical, useful. Be sure to get the one with the tripod legs. I had to send these back because they were the model without the tripod legs.

Cheese Louise! I would think that someone would have talked this up already! Max Life? Why run all nine batteries when only only three meets the voltage requirement? I use the three in the barrel that has "MaxLife "389 Tripod" emblazoned on it. The other two legs have batteries in them, but I've placed a small square piece of electrical tape on the cathode end of one of each of the cells in both legs. I'd draw ya'll a picture but what you're doing is "keeping" both of the remaining two legs as "spares" so that when the little red light starts to blink "low bat. -lo bat." you can change over to one of the "fresh" legs! Just remove the small square piece of electrical tape (removing any "glueish" residue that may have oozed onto the ends of both or either of the "conjoined with tape" batteries) and popping them back into the fresh barrel. Take the tape and put it onto the end of one of the batteries in the "spent" barrel" and this will preclude the spent batteries from being in parallel circuit with the fresh batteries. If you happen to be located or nearby an official "alkaline battery disposal location", you could leave them there; otherwise take them home, remove them and reload the spent barrel with fresh batteries. By putting the tape back over the spent batteries column, you prevent the fresh batteries from draining into them, what with their affinity for electrons and such. So! Now you've got a fresh set of batteries always available! The two spares should give you the applause and amazement due to such a prepared flashlight person, should you be with a group of others when the little red light goes blinkety blink.
