This line-level is tough, easily visible, and the small bars in front of the string hooks keep it from falling off the string without having to twist-tie it on.

I used this product while laying out a new deck. I was able to get pretty close but on long spans (my longest is 36') I ended up being off and had a hard time getting it just right. I would recommend a line level for small projects but either spend the money or rent a transit for big jobs that need to be level.
