About Stanley AntiVibe Hammers
Stanley AntiVibe hammers are made with the professional and serious DIYer in mind. Made of one-piece double forged steel head and handle for swing and durability, the hammers feature a patented tuning fork design that helps reduce harmful vibrations. The ergonomically designed handles, with the rubber grip molded directly onto the shaft, allow for multiple grip positions. The handles also have a specially textured grip for improved performance in wet conditions and an enlarged handle design that helps reduce gripping fatigue. A specially designed head shape provides for better balance and a larger "sweet spot."

I love this hammer,
This review is from: Stanley 51-942 16-Ounce AntiVibe Rip Claw Hammer (Tools & Home Improvement)
When you hold this hammer you feel the balance in it. It just feels right when you hold it, and I am not talking about some sort of sense of power like when you hold a remote control to your TV :), it just feels sturdy and balanced. I have had this hammer for a few months now and have not had any problems with its use. I would say this is the best hammer I have owned. I am a woodworker designing wall shelves http://presentationshelving.awardspace.com, and this hammer has been very useful in my projects.

I'm no pro, but this hammer feels good. Hits square, doesn't bother my elbow. I wish it came in a 12lb. version. Strangely, it seems short. Don't know if it comes from the curve or what, but I have to "recalibrate" my aim. That happens quickly, at least. No vibration problems. Overall, a good deal.

Great Hammer,

I bought this as a birthday present for my youngest son and my older son borrowed it. He loved it so much he bought one for himself. He loved the grip--apparently it really is antivibe. He also liked the balance of the hammer. And of course, who can't use a claw to remove those pesky trim nails. Yes, he was even able to pull out trim nails with a very small to basically no head. I'm sure if you wanted to spend lots more money you could buy an even better hammer. However, for the money and for 99 percent of the jobs most of us will ever do around the house, this hammer is great.
