Why oh why did I look at an average rating of *** and the good name of Stanley Tools.
I realize that these are not professional tools....but Henry Stanley would be flipping out that is name is on it. The marketers sure beat up engineering on this.

As noted in the other reviews (that I did not read) the fit and tolerances are so sloppy to make the wrench unusable and unsafe. Total slop at working end of the jaw is greater than 4mm (>1/8inch)!

RECOMMENDATION: DO NOT BUY

This may be fine for somethings but it is not good for what you would like it to do the most.
There is to much play in the wrench and it will not undo a bolt correctly.
It moves every time you go take it off the bolt.
I have used many wrenches over the years and even though this is a stanley (I should know better) the reviews made it see like a good deal.
Don't buy it you will regret it the first time you try to tighten or loosen a bolt.
I did.

I ordered this because some of Stanley's tools aren't bad for professional work. This one, however, isn't good enough.

The wrench itself, overall, isn't bad. The handle is comfortable. But, the moving jaw just has too much slop and play for professional work. As a commercial/industrial electrician, this will round too many bolts and nuts. And, the more play that it has, the more grit and fine metal shavings collect in the slide and foul it from moving easily. I gave it two stars because it would probably do fine for a homeowner.

I had to return it. So, I'm buying an Irwin, which I should have bought to begin with.

You can count on Stanley to make quality tools and this wrench is no exception. It has a comfortable rubber handle for grip, and the adjusting mechanism keeps the size of the opening from slipping. It has a slim head to fit over narrow openings. The 8 inch size is just right for tight places, yet it has enough torque to do the job.

This is a solid wrench and very good quality. Being able to open it really wide is useful as well.

Not quite as solid and sturdy as it could be, but for the price I am satisfied. Obviously if I were a regular handyman or professional mechanic/plumber of some sort, I would want to spend more for higher quality. But for a normal person who might use this no more than a couple times a year, it's plenty adequate.

I live this wrench. I really do. Just one problem...the edges at the business end are very "square" as in "not rounded," so when I tightened a bolt on the front of my right-out-of-the-box-fresh NEW bike, it scraped a big chunk of powder paint right off the fork. Positioned so everyone can see my attempt to mix car paint pen colors to match. I should have used a cloth between the wrench and the bike, but I wasn't aware that they powder painted bikes.(!?)

So the wrench is great, especially the handle...which was the reason for my choice. I just wouldn't use it where any scratch it causes would be a problem.
