4.0 out of 5 stars A must have....but with one mod
Agreed, this is a must have for moving big flat panels. I know of several guys having ripped their biceps carrying plywood the conventional method, by hand. I bought this not wanting to suffer injury the same way and after 40 sheets of ply and 40 sheets of sheetrock I am glad I did.

1.0 out of 5 stars USE WITH CAUTION:
I am a professional contractor. We got these to transport 10' and 12' sheets of of 5/8ths rock. The downward pressure these things created was unbelievable. I ended up pulling/tearing ligaments in my right wrist and forearm. The standing position you must have while using these is very 'off' compared to the conventional way of transporting ply/rock. I tweeked all sorts of...

One word of warning, and the reason I dropped a star rating, if carrying panels up stairs be careful as the panels, especially plywood, tend to slide. I used double faced tape to apply an old sanding belt which provided plenty of friction to prevent sliding. Aside from that, buy this thing and save yourself from possible injury.

5.0 out of 5 stars Handy Helper, May 28, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Stanley 93-301 14-Inch Yellow Panel Carry Handle (Tools & Home Improvement)
Provides just enough length for grabbing the bottom of a 4'x8' sheet (in lieu of longer arms) so one person can carry it. Sturdy enough to lift 3/4" 7-ply birch plywood (pretty heavy). It's made of heavy duty plastic, so it doesn't add a lot of weight to what you're lifting.

I love this thing, it made carrying 29 sheets of drywall into my house alone possible!

4.0 out of 5 stars Works well, with modification, November 22, 2008

I found this product to work well. I modified it because I found it hard to keep the weight of 5/8 inch sheetrock from opening my grip on the handle. I took a small fabric "tie down" and looped it though the handle and around my shoulder (on the side opposite the carrying side) so that the weight of the panel was transferred to my shoulder. I found this to be more comfortable than holding the handle with my hand.

5.0 out of 5 stars Could not have done it without it., May 9, 2009
This review is from: Stanley 93-301 14-Inch Yellow Panel Carry Handle (Tools & Home Improvement)
Read previous reviews. Bought and immediately put lots of rubber bands around the flat area that panels would be placed. Then moved 16 sub-flooring panels with a few breaks between groups of 4. Not bad for a 62 year-old lady and could not have done the task as quickly without this tool. Last time I ask a neighbor, but he move.

... Able to do a lot more work with a lot less effort. Sure, you can just grip the plywood from the top, or hold one hand high and one low, resting the board or sheetrock on your shoulder, but it's energy that can be best spent elsewhere.
... A handy person can slap a helpful aid together themselves, but it's $6 well spent.

This is one of those simple items that you have to have...and wished you invented it. It does exactly what it says and makes carrying sheet goods by yourself a much easier job.

I had to carry three sheets of 5/8" particle board by myself for a project that I'm doing. I couldn't have carried it without this handle. While it was still very heavy to move, at least I could move it.

The reason that I didn't give five stars is because it's difficult to get the piece up onto the handle. I found that I could lean the handle against my leg, lift the edge of the piece to get the handle under it, then kind of slide the handle to the middle. If the handle was designed to stand up on its own, it would have certainly gotten five stars from me.

4.0 out of 5 stars I use it frequently, April 8, 2008

I use this to move drywall and plywood when I have to move it any distance by myself. The handle is angled away from the face of the sheet, is comfortable, and just the right length, leaving your other hand free to balance the top edge of the sheet. I'd give it 5 stars if Stanley improved a few things just a bit: First, if they reduced the front-to-back depth of the bottom just bit and made the retention lip a bit higher, the sheet would feel a little more secure (it's not worth carrying more than 2 sheets anyway, as it becomes too hard to balance). Second, if it could freestand a little more securely, it would be that much easier to get a sheet on the thing. It's a pain in the neck when it falls over. In spite of all that, it's still the sheet carrier I reach for most often. Cheap, strong, and reliable. Bright yellow makes it hard to lose, too.

4.0 out of 5 stars Did the job, June 17, 2007
This review is from: Stanley 93-301 14-Inch Yellow Panel Carry Handle (Tools & Home Improvement)
My husband and I work in remodeling & sometimes there's not always a second set of hands around to carry sheetrock. Though a bit awkward, this makes it possible for us to carry sheetrock from point A to point B without relying on another person. As a woman, I found it easy enough to use.
