Worked great untill bolt broke holding the head after pressing only 8 rows of deck boards. Replaced the bolt with a stronger grade 5 bolt, and no problems since

This device works very well to straighten bowed deck boards. Very simple to use, can change quickly from joist to joist. Only down side is that you need one person to use the tool and one to hammer in nails. (Some might be able to do both at the same time, but it wouldn't be easy. No complaints at all.

A friend and I are building a 30'x 30' deck using composite. He was aware of a "board bender" but a call to the local stores including the big box stores turned up nothing. We finished about half of the deck floor without it and it was slow and difficult to get the proper spacing on the boards as even molded composite boards are not entirely true. I decided to check on-line and it was well worth the cost. The last half of the deck bords went faster and without strain. I am puttting 9" trim board from floor to ground and the deck is raised about 6 feet on one end so I have had the occasion to use it there as well to get correct spacing. However, in order to use it on the trim, the vertical nailers have to be joist thickness as well.
