I have done ceramic tiling in our home off and on for forty years. Bathrooms, kitchen backsplash, Shower stalls, etc. but I am about to cover 300 sq. ft. of floor with 14 inch square tile which is quite different from my other projects. I needed a book to boost my skills in this area and after looking at several, I felt that the Stanley book offered the most detailed practical help with a plethora of photos. On receiving and reading it I was not dissapointed. I recomment this book to beginners and semi-skilled DYIs like me. It offers the basics and some very useful tips.

I am a beginner and after looking at MANY books on tiling, this is the one I decided on. It is a wonderful book that explains everything from start to finish. There are over 800 pictures, so for those of us who like to see what we are about to attempt, this book is great.

If you want to know anything about tiling, get this book. I'm a novice and this book takes you through step by step and talks about numerous tile installations on different surfaces. Great job. It discusses why you might use a certain tile over another and it tells you what to look for when installing your project. I can't say enough about this book. And the pictures were well done also.

If you're a visual person, this series of books from Stanley are a great value. Packed with vivid color pictures and great accompanying text. Occasionally, you'll thirst for more information on a particular topic but those moments are VERY few and far between. Highly recommended.

This book is quite helpful for both beginners and for people with a few tiling projects under their belt. This has easy instruction guides on many pages as well as tiling ideas to help you become more creative (if you so choose). If you want a simple guide that makes you feel more comfortable doing your tiling project, this is a great one to choose.

After reading the reviews I was sure I'd love this book but it was sadly lacking in depth of information, touching lightly on a variety of types of tiles, including much to my surprise, carpet tiles and wood parquet tiles. I was hoping for more info on ceramic and porcelain tiles.

I can not say anything bad about the Stanley publications. Everyone I own has been informative and easy to read and understand.

I have many of the Stanley complete books, and they are excellent. They provide a wealth of pictures and info for big and small projects. I highly recommend the electrical and plumbing one too!

I like this book give's you great detail.
For the doit yoursef biginer you can't go wrong I recomend it very high.

I couldn't make heads or tails out of this book. I'm a university professor and I am not stupid. Through these types of books I have been able to wire and do the plumbing to my new addition on my home. Those books were written by Black and Decker and I wish I would have stayed with a book by them on tiling. This book reads more like a series of suggestions than a how-to reference book. The layout is too scattered and it's hard to know what the next step is. Totally ridiculous waste of my money. They should have paid me to take this off their hands. Don't buy it, you'll screw up your tiling
